Fun fact: Ku could actually have gotten herself off the cliff, considering the fact that you are able to glide while playing as Ku. Without Ori on her back, it would have been easier to glide downward. (Also, Ku isn't dead, she is actually in fact, just unconscious. If you pay close enough attention, you can see her breathing as she lies in Kwolok's Hollow.) And also to clear up a few things about Shriek if no one else has already, • In the Ori & WoTW wiki, it states that Owls are territorial and protective of their offspring/kin, seeing that Shriek looks so different and strange, they see her a threat (her being so close to the owlets) and chase her off without knowing they are the same blood holders. • Ori knew that Shriek had been rejected for the entirety of her life, as it is explained by Baur. The way I take it is that they wish to give Shriek another chance, perhaps help her to forget her dark past and start anew. Shriek, however, having been isolated for her entire life, cannot comprehend the act of kindness that Ori performed and instead, flies away thinking that they intended something else. • Shriek does die in the last cutscene. After the fight, both Shriek and Ori are injured. Shriek chooses to visit her long dead family and stay with them, while Ori brings life back to the land. Side note: Shriek hatched during the events of the Decay. This is what altered her appearance, making her look how she is. Inhabitants of the forest (the Moki, for example) have to stay wary of creatures such as Howl, so seeing Shriek look so alike Howl, they scatter in fear that she would attack them too. One more thing: I'm pretty sure the Spirit Tree was narrating in the first game and Ori narrating in the second, since during the Ginso tree cutscene, the dialogue "But Ori's kindness would once again save my child." doesn't seem quite right, since that would be Ori calling themselves their own child :O

@@177SCmaro Maybe, it would be interesting but It won't be the same Ori since they are currently vessel or spirit tree of Seir. Ori will forever be a spirit tree until they finally pass the light to another spirit. It also makes me wonder if this was Ori's true purpose as spirit. Ori once born into the world didn't have any abilities like the other spirits and the Spirit tree of Nibel put up quite the light show to bring them back. There is even achievement for completing the game called "Destiny" with Ori's spirit tree as the icon which makes me think Ori's purpose was to be the vessel of the light and become the next spirit tree.

Shriek is covered in corruption that is why Shriek is rejected. When you take the corrupted tree branch to Tully he tells you to take it away immediately. There is no proof that the corruption can be spread that way but it is a fear.

Those Karen adult owl scared Shriek away because Shriek is diagnosed with the decay, making her look weird. The decay spreads, and the adult owls knew this and didn't want there children to be either mutated or dead. If Shriek only looked weird and didn't have a disease, the owls probably wouldn't have cared and let their children play with Shriek.

Gladly. The possibility that moon studios would just let this franchise sit and eventually die out is very low, so me and this guy had theorised what would come next in the series. My first idea was a co-op style game, where multiple people can play at once, like battle blocks theatre for example, then a secondary level designer for the average or more creative players in the community. The other guy then replied talking about the leaf that left the spirit tree at the end of will of the wisps and theorised that it may even be a resurrected Ori; or Ori sending another spirit to finish off what he started, like finding shriek and helping her find the warmth she once desired. I then came with the idea of a prequel instead of a sequel, giving the idea of the story of the very first tree and the very first spirit. I predict this will be the less likely idea they will go with in the future but it would definitely be a good story in the future if they play their cards right in the years to come. Then I suggested that it might not even be a game at all, but a comic. I think it would probably fit nicely into this series if it was handled with enough care. But I guess we’ll have to wait and see really. I can only hope it won’t be another Spyro the dragon situation where they only see the monetary value and build off that and only that.

Regarding the new spirit (or reincarnated ori) I had a discussion with someone else saying the same thing about how this new spirit would finish what Ori started and help Shriek. In a sequel the game would start where Ori turned into a spirit tree and this new leaf would land onto the 'Willow's Glade' (Made up the name a while back since the Willow's End was restored and turned into a grass plain).

Amazing job! Just one thing. I think that the reason the owls rejected Shriek was because she was already partially petrified and corrupted (physically). In the game when Ori brings the petrified branch to Tuley, he tells him to get rid of it immediately, so it's doesn't spread the petrification and corruption to their city. I imagine that the owls didn't want Shriek spreading petrification and corruption to their offspring.

My theory is what if ori never becomes a spirit tree like when the spirit leaf fell what if that’s ori being born again but the light becomes so powerful the tree is able to function on its own and have a voice. I don’t believe ori is a spirit tree but more of helping the tree to grow and become powerful. Remember one of the paintings in the will of the wisps were the spirit guides need to unlock a vault well when you enter deep in the vault there’s a painting and it shows ori’s kind dead in the painting so what if ori just helps create the tree and comes out of a spirit leaf once the tree is ready but ori’s life will be the same except one day ori will die just like her family ages sadly. The thing is ori was made by the spirt guides which created her kind, the spirit orbs were never a spirit like ori was just only as a spirit guide and so she’s just creating a new orb to bring the light out to protect everyone she cares about. The memory’s she had with her family could be a meaning that she’ll not see them for many years and she won’t watch ku grow and when she thought of kwallak that could be a meaning that deep down she’ll always miss him for what he’s done and how much he has guided this young bright beautiful spirit named ori.

Not actually. I'm pretty sure it was because she was carrying the decay. She somehow survived and it isn't developing further but the game clearly shows the threat it poses. There is the moki family which you find turned to stone. If you go back after telling the father you can find him there also as stone showing that the decay isn't a one time thing. And there's the part where you bring a branch from the dying tree to the gardener and he tells you to take it away immediately before you spread it to other plants killing them all.

If there is a 3rd game it must be about Ori’s child discovering the past and continuing the cycle, trying to prevent Ori’s tree from dying. The tree should die somewhere near the beginning. And the game should be completely new due to the amount of time that’s past, perhaps Niwen has a lot of towns now, new creatures that traveled there from around the world. Perhaps there could be an event between the 2 games where Baur faces off against some evil (maybe shriek), this too could hugely change the world. Ori’s child could even go back to Nibel to find some kind of answer, maybe to get the help of Sein to save Seir and Ori? And there Ori’s child finds the place that Karu cared for Ori. Something like that, just fanfiction until they make another

Can I just say, I NEVER used the bow and arrow after the needed area. I remember using the power ups and not being satisfied with the amount of damage it dropped in comparison to the spear or using your smash abilities. I also didn’t realize I could fire them in rapidsl succession like that and all those “super easy” boss fights, were anything but without them. This was wild to watch cause not only did you mow these bosses down in the blink of an eye, you literally skipped entire phases because of this mechanic. If I ever play through this one again, I’ll attempt Hard Mode and use the bow moving forward lol

Easily the saddest part of the game. I have a theory about shriek species: It's strange that she was the only one to survive, and also it's strange that the owls reject her. Maybe they were in competition for the supremacy in the forest. This explain why we don't find owls in this game: they all have been killed by Shriek once she growth. Also, I think the owls killed the remaining member of Shriek species, not only the spirit tree. But if this is true, why they didn't kill Shriek in the first place? Maybe it was guilty? Remorse? Mercy? Idk, we have to wait to find out.

I'm not sure that's the case since it's made abundantly clear that the Silent Woods is the result of the Spirit Willow dying. Shriek is born the way she is because she's in the thick of decay, which in this series is as supernatural a plague as it is physical. Shriek is not rejected by the owls alone...but ALL living creatures. It's worse than petty rivalries, Shriek and her deformed state is exiled and isolated because she introduces the concept of death and extinction to life outside the Silent Woods. She looks like a spawn of the decay, nothing *alive* wants anything to do with her. The baby owls were just too young to harbor any such impression or bias like their parents. Ori itself is the only exception and that is only after learning the truth from Baur. Would Ori have stopped Seir if he didn't know the truth of Shriek?

She isn't just a fallen angel of decay: she is an enraged fury, against all life, because life didn't want her, yes. She probably is the destructive power of life itself, the power of life to kill life, not just corrupt it. While other spirits and species accepted the course of nature, she fought violently against it. She is... like us? Maybe she is the rappresentation of what we can become... actually now that i think about it, it could very much be a wasteland, i mean, think about it, during the decay the creatures of the forest get corrupted and try to kill the creatures that survived the corruption, but they're clearly not dead, but in the silent woods it appears that every single living thing in it has turned to stone. and judging by Shriek's cutscene, it appears that the silent woods has been like this for a while, because the willow was still alive at the time judging by the fact that the owls seem to be living a normal life at the time. and let's not forget that one particular side quest from a moki, where you've been told to go to the silent woods and tell his family that he now has a home in the glades, as soon as you arrive to the house however, you find out that his family has turned to stone, so you tell him about it and he decides that he has to go see them, and if you were to go back there you'll find him there too, turned to stone like his family. so it's possible that something happened and it has nothing to do with the decay, those are my expectations anyway.

Korochan Skidacc1 for what it’s worth. My guess is that when the spirit tree died, it sent out some kind of wave of decay, kind of an opposite force that the spirit tree sent out in the first game. That wave petrified everything in the silent woods. I’m assuming this because the owl graveyard, they were mostly huddled around their eggs, implying this wasn’t a slow gradual process but some kind of fast moving force. There’s no reference to any kind of timeline between when the spirit willow died and shriek was born, but if I had to guess, they weren’t far apart, which is why she’s only partially petrified and the other egg in the nest is completely petrified. The part about exile is spot on I believe. She was rejected by those who haven’t been touched by the decay. Though that raises another point, how are their still creatures living within the Ailey woods? She must have spent some time living elsewhere before returning to those woods.

If there's ever a sequel, it should be with a new ori-like main character (you know, the one leaf that sheds from the tree in WotW ending) in the same world. When it's born a new character can raise it and then BOOM, something chaotic happens, new spirit has to fix the issue, new adventure ahead, game starts. This time you get to meet new and old characters (adult Ku, baur maybe or one of his kids, or something like that.) Having adult Ku help the new spirit along the journey would be pretty dope.

The reason niwens inhabitants rejected shriek, is because shriek is a creature born from the age of decay, her body is disfigured, they would be hesitant to accept a creature of the decay, the slugs and other enemies are no different, so it would make sense to fear her, ku and ori were not affected by the decay, and lets not forget that the moki didnt immediately believe ori to be an actual spirit, they wanted to see that ori could truly use the light. And on shriek rejecting ori's kindness, the spirit tree didnt blame shriek, it simply stated that she rejected the kindness of ori, it said "blinded by her past, she rejected the warmth she once sought" I dont see how it was blaming shriek, its just telling whats going on on the screen.

Amharbinger uses correct grammar when addressing Ori which a genderless spirit as "him" because that's a English rule. Comments: ORI IS A GIRL!!!!!!!!! Developers and Wiki: Ori is a genderless spirit. Me: Dear god, this is why humanity is going backwards instead of forward. Even basic grammar is foreign to these people. I'm glad that at least people like this guy uses proper grammar.

I liked it. there are channels with millions of subscribers who do the same thing. Foundflix does it for movies. plus people who get annoyed if he did it that way. a channel use to do it and kept getting "why don't you explain the ending".

Spoilers!!! At the end of the game ori turns into a tree and you can see that there is a feather on the tree. If ever you played the first game, ori was born due to a feather like the same one in will of the wisps. So if Moon studios and Microsoft games make a third ori there could be a new ori or him being reborn.

I get you were upset about shrieks backstory but shriek was completely at fault for not accepting oris mercy The death of many creatures and even his own death could have been avoided if he put his differences aside with ori Shriek almost killed oris sister and badly hurt ori killed many mokoi and creatures and he still had it in him to forgive shriek and put his differences aside to give him the comfort he wanted his whole life and when He finally gets that chance he refuses to change and just runs off like a bitch. This was the first time in his life he was given a chance to live in peace and he just said fuck that. Sure the other owls were dicks back then but still

Kuro restored the Spirit Tree wasn't because she changed her mind to spare Ori but because she wanted to save her child. And it stay consistent through the game. Will of the Wisps' story is weak. There is no conflict between Ori and Shriek. Ori wants to rescue Ku and get the hell out of there. Shriek wants to kill everything? Because... Why not? It's just lame to me. And the shift of Ori's objectives is weak too. When I play, I feel like: "Screw the forest. I just want to rescue Ku and the forest can stay dead for good."
