He just sucks at being in drop coverage which he was forced to play the majority of his career by coaches who were too stubborn to think outside the box on defense (most notably, Thibs). Now the real guys who are a legit negative on defense are guys like Trae, Mitchell, Garland, Jamal Murray, Beal, Dame from who I can think of off the top of my head. That's a LOT of stars on max deals and they are all offense and no defense.

He can be great when he wants to, needs to be pushed from time to time. I agree with what the creator of this video said. Kat will get traded sooner or later. The moment the organization see it's not going as they planned or the team is not getting better, they will work to dump Kat to create salary flexibility. They are at the luxury in terms of taxes, they are the second most expensive team behind the Phoenix Suns. Kat gets traded and they find a cheaper replacement and they might even avoid the second apron. Surprisingly it's the first time Glen Taylor allows this, but he has Mark Lore and A-Rod, and the two probably told Glen they'll take of the extra taxes.

I'll say the Wolves will give him 1 more try and if they repeat the success or go further, there will be a Hail Marry attempt to save the team, but I doubt either way that the franchise will be able to keep this roster. It's just too much of a headache when it comes to luxury tax, even if they win the championship, someone has to go, I bet it's KAT - he is not even 30 yet so he has a chance. No one will take Gobert at this point and when his contract is over, he will either get on a vet minimum or retire. Not a lot of teams Gobert is compatible with in this day and age.

Because of the new CBA, continuing the Wolves’ success would be hard. Gobert and Towns would be up for extension (both would want the max), NAW and Reid would required 20-25 million/season and their stabilizer Mike Conley is not getting any younger. If they don’t at least get the finals next year, there would be some hard decisions to make. They might only end up keeping 3 maybe 4 at most of their key players.

The reason why people hate Gobert is because his game isn't "clean and smooth". He's all defense and no offense. They say "just drag him outside the paint and he's cooked". If that were to be the case, then why isn't every single team running 1/5 pick and roll every possession to get him switched onto a guard? Thing is, he's great at showing and retreating back to his man to contest lobs and also decent at guarding the perimeter as well as he moves really well considering he's a 7 footer. His 7'9 wingspan helps a ton to contest shots as well. It's crazy how Gobert gets hate for his salary when the Jazz paid him that much in the first place too. The man grabbed the bag like any other mfer would but somehow it's his fault that he got paid that much? I've never heard the Jazz getting hate because they paid him the full max at least in recent years. It's also not his fault that the wolves traded for him with all the "assets" (which as of right now, they got another clarkson in keyonte george and that's it lol) and blame him for inflating the trade market when the hawks literally did that beforehand by trading 4 unprotected picks for a 1 year rental of Murray. None of which is Gobert's fault too. Also to those people who say Luka cooked him, I've yet to see any big NOT get cooked by Luka, at least in a playoff setting. There's so much you can do when you play near perfect defense and stay attached to him but he still makes the shot. And to Lively, he's yet to understand how lucky he is to get to play with 2 generational playmakers with the ball in their hands in Luka and Kyrie and literally got spoon fed buckets on a silver platter. He talks like he was able to do whatever he wanted when in reality it was his other teammates doing the heavy lifting on offense. There's a reason he never got playing time against the Cs. He's just not that good yet.

Depends on injuries a lot but T-wolves could still be a top 3 team in the West. They have a good defense so that will keep them in a lot of games when they aren't shooting well. If OKC is healthy, they should have #1 seed and a trip to the finals. Thunder have offense and defense -- and only got better in the off season. They needed some playoff experience, which they have now.

Back in the day there was actually no more controversial player in any team sport in the '90s than Rodman. Dude got waaay more boos than Draymond or Rudy do now. First, everyone outside Detroit hated _the entire Pistons team._ Or at least Laimbeer, Isaih and Mahorn - in addition to Rodman. That was one thing, but when Dennis went to the Bulls and dyed his hair all of the disdain and hateraid got aimed at HIM - so he was heckled constantly everywhere he went. Nobody else on the Bulls was all that hate-able, some "anti-favoritism" talk against MJ, sure - but who else was hated - Kerr??

Have you ever watched Dennis Rodman on offense outside of putbacks a tip in with a layup or dunk? No probably not it was insanely rare for him to take a shot outside of 5 feet and yet he is steal one of the greatest of all time. He focused on rebounding and defense. Rodman studied other players and their most common moves then when they tried to use those moves Rodman knew where they were going and would meet them at that spot to draw a charge or slap the ball out of their hands. zHe even looked like it was his first time running in the fast break because he had a high step like a gazelle and why did he do things like that? Well because if the other players are looking at him they are not looking at or for the ball. Distraction was a huge part of his game but in his day more players respected the work others put in because of what they got out of them on the court. Thank God social media wasn't thing in his day because what we saw out of Dennis with regular old media was to much.

Luka Doncic was 3rd best Iso defender last season and 1 of 4 players to have over 100 possessions playing iso defender. I know he isn't guarding the most elite offenseive players on other teams but he's getting tested 3rd most in the NBA in iso and holding up most of the time so clearly this "he plays no defense/doesn't try" isn't true. This literally took a 3 min google search to look up the stats. He's not quick but anyone who watches the games will see he's good at anticipating were someone will go, walling them off or jumping them to steal the ball. Only fast elite offensive players blow past him and nobody in the league completely stops those guys. This is such a hater argument at this point, and like in the last video I watched and commented on Casey hates on the Mavs because he's a Rockets fan and its super annoying. I like watching a bunch of NBA KZbinrs because they don't do the crap of ESPN or mainstream guys do which is just be homers for whoever they like and clearly not watch the games but Christ this is basically the same experience at this point. It's sad because I want to watch the videos but its so annoying becasue its so unnecessary and its not just Luka and the Mavs. It completley ruins the experience of an otherwise fine video. I like Gobert, so everybody dont hate him. I like him even when he lack in offence. He is very good at defense, especially in team defense. All signs late last season show that maybe nba allow play real defense again. If so, Gobert will be even more valuable than he was last season. However, i cant cheer for wolves because Ant disrespect so many great players in past eras. I think that players back then had more skills than todays players. Back then players wasnt allow to travel, carry ball etc. Now people think todays players have more skills, NO THEY DONT! They just allowed do stuff what wasnt allowed in past eras. And also now teams are not allowed play defence. Ofc scoring is easier now than ever before. Its easy to score when take few extra steps, carry the ball, commit offece foul and get some freethrows after all that. In the past none of those things was legal.
