Tulsi Ramayan is more Bhakthi Bav. Since I am from south, I can tell you a speciality of Kamba Ramayan. Kamba Ramayan is more poetic and excellent piece of literature. Kamba Ramayan has influence from both Valmiki and Azhwars. Infact, the atheists like DK/ DMK for their love for language read Kamba Ramayan. More so, many Muslim Tamil professors have memorized Kamba Ramayan and every year we have literary festivals across TamilNadu to celebrate Kamban. Last but not least, Kamba Ramayan was first recited at Srirangam temple infront of the Tamil Pandits. Only if they approve the grammar, it would be allowed. At that time when Kamban was reciting a stanza on Narsingha (this is Kamban’s own addition), the deity of Narasimha on the srirangam temple laughed and growled to give approval to Kamban.
