So this is the story behind this song... all starts in a city / village north of Italy (15th/16th century). And in the village, is a small isolated castle, and in the castle, was an ugly guy. No one knows anything about the guy. This guy was so ugly, that he had to hide in the shadows. He came from a powerful family, but he shunned away. He eventually fell in love with the gardener's daughter. The only thing that gave him joy, was gardening. But one day, a girl came to the man's garden / hiding place, and stole flowers. The guy was furious and spied over his flowers at night. Then, she came back and stole some more flowers. It kept on happening for a few days, until the man got curious and night, he pretended to sleep. He saw the girl again, but this time, when the girl left, he covered himself with a blanket and followed. By following her, he found out that she was poor and ill and the only way for her to survive was to sell the stolen flowers. Seeing here like this, he wanted to help her out in every way. But he was too afraid that she would be scared of him. He could only keep on growing flowers. He suddenly has the idea to create a non-existent flower, that she could sell at a more expensive price. After several tries, he finally created the perfect flower. He was excited, he planted them and grew many of them. He waited for the girl, but she didn't come. No matter how long he waited, she didn't come. Then he went looking for her, but he realized what happened. He was too late. She died.

About the story of the Smeraldo flower.. Smeraldo is a flower with a heartrending story. This story begins around 1500s-1600s. An ugly guy is hiding from people, because his appearance make his get hatred and violent, so he grew up without opening his mind. His happiness is planting the flowers in his garden. One day, a girl appearred, she jumped into his garden and stole his flowers. He gets mad and keesp his eye on his garden and that girl, but when he sleeps she still steals his flowers again and again. So, he pretends to sleep and keeps his eye on the girl who steals his flowers, waiting for the girl come again, so he can follow her. By following her into town, he finds out that the girl has to steal his flowers because she is poor and she sells them. He then wants to help the girl… and He was slowly falling in love with her. but he is afraid the girlwill get scared of his appearance and his face. He thinks that the way to help her is to let her steal his flowers and he becomes determined to create a flower that does not exist in this planet because she will get a lot of money from this flower. He starts to create the flower, he fails again and again but he won’t give up his determination. Finally the flower is done so he brings it into his garden and waits for the girl to come steal it…. But, no one comes, there is no signal about the girl… For a long time… The girl doesn’t come to his garden At last he findds out the truth… The girl is gone from this world and this planet…

The first time they performed this song they were in Brazil and he cried on stage because he couldn’t do his best. He was coughing a lot during sound check and he wasn’t feeling well. So The Truth Untold was released on the Love Yourself Tear album in May 2018 and Epiphany was released on the Love Youself Answer album in August 2018 but they were probaby written around the same time and Jin is constantly working on his voice ( as they all are) and considering he had no experience singing before joining BigHit i think hes absolutely amazing.

The Truth Untold was on the album 'Love Yourself: Tear' which released in spring of 2018, Epiphany was on the repackaged album, 'Love Yourself: Answer', in late summer of 2018, so they were both released in the same year and right after Love Yourself: Answer dropped, they went on a world tour called the Love Yourself tour! Everyone had solo stages, and right after Jin sang Epiphany, Jimin V and Jungkook join him on stage to perform The Truth Untold.

You are so close. It is based on a italian folk tale. The singer is disfigured and hides in his garden, one day a beatiful woman comes by and admires the flower, he wants to meet her without the mask, but is afraid. He never takes a chance to show his real self. This is one of my favorite ballads by BTS. Another is Crystal Snow, if you watch the live version, watch the Jin centric one he has a triple high note at end that is awesome, as does Jimin after.

So Love Yourself is 3 parts. alove yourself:Her. Love yourself: Tear and then Love yourself: Answer. Love yourself :answer is the HER and TEAR and also where EPIPHANY AND EUPHORIA, plus some other songs that aren't on the 1st two albums. It's a set and it follows the BTS story line. At least I think they do. The truth untold is about a man who was isolated in a castle by himself, he grew these flowers that were really special (smerldo flowers) and this lady in the village who was really poor, basically jumped his fence and stole flowers and sold them to the villagers, and thats how she made her living. the man in the castle, I think he was disfigured, so basically he will look at her from afar and he fell in love. He started to grow the flowers in bunches and watch her pick them, later on he went to look for her and found out she had passed. So that's like the run down on that song. So it's a love story from afar on how he couldn't show his face bcuz he thought he wasn't a good looking dude... I'm probably not 100% accurate but I think that's how it goes.
