I called local Catholic Charities looking for where I could get help, because I had been in hospital critical condition and had recently been released but still very weak and struggling to walk, lived alone and couldn't take my garbage out. Hoping to find some charity or volunteer organization that could just take out my garbage occasionally. I was told to call the government. Absurd. Jesus said, I was sick and you visited Me. When did we see you sick? When you did it to the least, you did it to Me. There is No Ministry to the homebound. No one to do a small chore or errand. No one to bring a little food, or just a cheerful face to uplift someone homebound that is elderly, disabled, sick or dying.

It is heartless, to have people disappearing, children and adults. There really isnt a conflict between following the Gospel and the U.S government. The government is operating at an enormous deficit and these programs may have to be reduced or eliminated. These organizations may need to rely on donations only. But it is important to recognize that many Americans have been displaced due to natural disasters and high rents and low wages. Their needs to be some attention to those needs as well.
