Oh my gosh, I’m in a similar position myself. (Also a colour pencil artist) I haven’t been officially diagnosed yet but I know I’m definitely autistic. And it’s only really made sense recently. I’ve always felt different and have had crippling social anxiety for so many years. I often feel like I’m in a bubble looking in. Always up for a chat if you want :) I’ve not really spoken about it to anyone as no one gets it or understands. So definitely good to hear from another female going through something similar xx

I just wanted to say thank you for being so vulnerable with your mental health/autism journey! I believe I may also have autism but haven't taken any steps to get diagnosed ( I also don't ask for help) But you made a good point... If you get diagnosed, then you can move forward with ways that can help you cope/feel better so I think I might look into getting an assessment as well Good luck, and I hope you get answers soon! 😊

Hey twinny, just catching up……firstly, LOVE the curly hair! 👌 Hope you get some answers to you questions, but you’re not strange at all. I was horrendously shy when I was young, & could barely look anyone in the eye. I’d still rather avoid social occasions if I can. I used to call myself antisocial, but have recently came to the conclusion I’m just an introvert. I like my own space & prefer my own little world. I think the solitary life of artists is often mistaken as being ‘odd’ ……you’re far from odd! Don’t give yourself a hard time. Loving the gorgeous colours you’re using just now 💜 & that sourdough looks scrummy 😋 Take care x

Hullo Amie, I know it is tough not having a diagnosis and suffering a mystery illness or simply not have an answer for problems we have! I know that even wit ha diagnosis you still have to live your life and overcome that diagnosis and all the incumbent problems associated with it! I hope your aware that your an amazing person and spectacular Artist! It truly does not matter what label a Dr. might give you I hope your able to overcome any obstacles that are in your way. I would love to see a new bee artwork! I have it in my to do list as well! A Honey Bee or a big ol' Bumble Bee! Here's hoping things go your way! be well! OMG! The bread looks so YUMMMY!

Hey, I know I am an internet stranger but I have also just been referred for an autism/ ADHD assessment (I'm 39) and I get the exact same issues with going out, I want to go, I look forward to going, but when it comes to actually going I just can't, it feels like there is an invisible wall stopping me, then I feel guilty and like I have missed out on not going and get angry at myself for it. Often females present very differently (and most autism/ adhd traits are based on under 10yr old boys) when I started looking into the adult female traits they pretty much describe me. I also had the same feelings of being strange or broken and just different to other people. So if you ever want to chat to someone who is going through the same things then feel free to message me. x (My husband was also disgnosed as an adult a couple of years ago so happy to answer any questions about what the process involves, but it was pretty much a call with an assessor and they go through a load of questions and send a questionaire over. But be warned, the waiting list for an assessment is about 4yrs at the moment)

I am very friendly person and I talk to anyone. However I love to be on my own. Alone with my drawings and nature. I often feel disconnected with the world. I think I am the weirdest person in the world.
