Man, these 'movies to games' sucks more often than not. I recently longplayed Predator 1 and 2, wanted to do more Arnold games so tried The Last Action Hero next, but was too hard (I did longplay it many years ago though). There's Red Heat, but man, that one is sooooo boring, which left me with The Running Man, which I've never played before and the old Amiga longplay of it needed to be redone. Might try and do the other Arnold games soon anyway. There's also Total Recall, but I did that one recently. Also done both Terminator games not too long ago.
Hmm, wonder if there are other Arnold games on the Amiga. I know of some couple of Sylvester Stallone games: Cliffhanger and Judge Dredd, Rambo III. Might do Cliffhanger and Judge Dredd next, as Rambo III has been done not too long ago.
Yeah, most of these titles HAS been longplayed before, but 8+ years ago and needs to be redone, which is what I'm trying to do. Longplays I've done in the past 2-3 years are new enough (like the T2 games, Rambo III, Predator 1 & 2, Total Recall). -

Yup, it's messed up, but in comparison NES games were about 90 dollars and SNES around 120.... Genesis around 110. Holy crap... That said computer games usually saw the games re-released later at budget prices. Not aware of that happening on consoles until the Playstation, maybe it did...

Todays games are expensive too for the crap we get . Paying between $50-$75 for only less than 6hours of fun with boring cinematics we can't even skip in some games and the short lifespan of games nowadays usualy gets so called old obsolete after not even 6 months. It isn't worth the money either imho . Also many games today seems never to be complete since the tons of updates we get looks to me newer games are Beta-Tests .

I love this movie because it's one of these futuristic movies that was ahead of it's time saying the truth of what we have nowadays. The media is the power of everything , many people are brainwashed with those reality tv shows and also how everything now is sand thrown in eyes with fakery luxuous crap that we don't even need in our life . ( another movie that was ahead of it's time and is also showing us the reality in todays era is "Demolition Man" ) . About the game it's shit what are these dogs doing in Running Man? Even in the there weren't dogs . As for the battle between Sub-Zero, Buzzsaw, ....they're silly also were are Ben Richards friends ? Like always movies put in games sucks as it seems devs never seen the movies, cartoons whatsoever before making their games . I don't know how make a valid game out of Running Man ? whit that i mean which genre ...fps? racing? imho i think none of them .

It would be on computer much weaker then amiga..... I guest one could argue that its not the problem with graphics but animation and gameplay but lets just say movie is great but the game is just.... sth that was ordered to be done to make some money. If you want decent game made of movie, please try Leathal weapon on amiga - really cool gameplay.

I don't know what all that hate for this game is about. It's exactly like the movie! I remember the entire film was an overly-proportioned man camply mincing to the right while kicking dogs in the face. He then overcomes overwhelming adversity by using all of his quick-thinking, intelligence and throwing a brick repeatedly at his enemy's faces. I always thought that Ben Richards was the villain because of all the dogs he kicked to death, but other people seemed to like it.

Lots! Even action games also like Gods, Turrican 2, Syndicate or Tower Assault, and of course point and click adventure games e.g. Elvira, or racer games e.g. Ultimate Super Skidmarks and of course Lemmings games :) Oh, and Cannon Fodders are really long.

At least its not Terminator 2. Which you can play in one sitting - even if you don't even try the two sliding tile puzzles, the first of which is piss easy and can be done in 9 seconds, the second which on a good day is virtually impossible - and complete in under 11 minutes.

I'm sure it is. King made it very clear in interviews that he wasn't a fan of what the movie did with his story so that's prob why he has the lowest score.

This movie is a remake from a french movie called "Le Prix du Danger" from Yves Boiset . As Stephen King got it's inspiration from the novel of Robert Sheckley ( The Prize of Peril ) published in 1958 .

Visually this looks amazing for its year, but the gameplay looks like it totally sucked. Two-three sprites on screen at a time, and you can evade an enemy in your space by ducking? Lovely animation and backdrops though.

Well, it fits on two diskettes with 800KB each and runs on an Amiga 500 with 0,5MB CHIP (I presume that it runs on 0,5MB it doesn't say anything on the box cover about 1MB which is quite common back in the days.) it's quite good compared to what, say EA throws out on the market... And no, far from all "movie" games are good, Goldeneye is one of them that's quite good in my opinion.

I can't agree with you on that one. It looks way better than the vast majority of licenced games produced around that time. I don't think it will be winning any awards for gameplay, but the aesthetics were spot on and it was at least playable.
