Man, so many of the traditional artists who got into computer graphics around the time of the Amiga really really knew color. Makes me very happy to watch this game.

I think it's a result of 8-bit computers having very restricted color.

I was 8 years old when i palyed this game on my Atari ST.... i never end this game, cause i am german and cant speak english^^ Never the less i made it till level 4... just came here to watch how the game goes on 25 years later XD One of ebst games ever!

I remember a long and pleasant summer when I spent most of my time playing this game with a walkthrough in hand. I think I got only till the 3rd level. I love every sound and sprite in this game!

Bitmap Brothers were pretty much everything I enjoyed in video games as a kid. Loved my Amiga days, and people are right, games just arent the same anymore :(

One special trick for the 5th level: if you thought of bringing some of the caskets you can find along, you can actually smuggle some of your equipment (which would otherwise be obliterated) into Dianos' chambers and use them there. I was able to destroy him with the Magic Missile Wands after I had cast Banish on him, instead of using the Mind Blast Orb.

IMO Bitmap close to greatest comp. games ever (well - Gods/all Cadavers (don't forget the 3 'new' coverdisk levels)/Dozer/Lemmings - all ... Loved the bonus bottle of Ruddles County in level 2-infinite money there-different ways of completing puzzzles - e.g. take Twinky book from level 4-retain-read to Dianos at end of level 5 ... Still awaiting my returned 1990 completion scroll (Maxwell-Mirrorsoft died at sea...). Thanks for posting these longplay Amiga videos.

@iustine Well, the most important tools for this feat are an Immortal Potion, a Mindblast Orb (extra-strong - the green gems you must collect on the fifth level would boost its power) and a Dispel Evil Scroll. There was a strongbox in front of Dianos' chambers which teleported certain items into his abode - everything else would be lost in the antechamber - in which you must place the above in order to deal with him.

I really think this isometric games from the 1980's & 90's will have a revival in the next decade when gamers are fed up with shooting, mangling, flaying,bombing etc or rape each other up.

I remember once there was a feature in Amiga Power about this game. They asked anybody who had completed it to tell them how, nobody out of the thousands of readers had even got past level 2.

At 38:00 + you could take the levitating pan along. Got pretty useful in reaching high places in this level.

REALLY special tip for 5th level end (ta for Longplay work-sharing...) is to take 'TWINKY' book from library towards end of level 4. Retain/this will be in your rucksuck at end of level 5 ... READ the thingie to Dianos at end ... IMO Cadavers (the 2 releases + 3 cover-disk different levels)/Knightmare (+ 3 different new cover-disk levels)/Dozer (+ AF cover disk different 10 levels)/Lemmings (+ cover disk levels...) were-are the best Amiga games

At 36:40 you could open and close the chest repeatedly and thus accumulate as much money as you could want. Very useful if you have to save, since saving the game costs the more gold each time.

I played this game with no help at 12yrs old! no one to talk to about cos none of my friends had an amiga. reason no homework was done. my brother didn't get it especially how I'd cheat n use any object like a chicken to climb up to a lever. hahaha wow to watch it this many years on I still think is good. bit map brothers best then chaos engine n magic pockets. I only got to level 4 could not go far in that level. not sure where in play off game I got...I think I prefered that game. I want stop watching it n maybe some how play it again...

You have to install on your mac parallel desktops (works only if you have an intel based mac...for example dual core) then you need windows xp and install it later (after you installed parallel desktops on your mac) on... Then you can switch between those two systems..mac osx and windows...I tried everything before i downloaded parallels...now I am statisfied... Check out the internet or youtube for infos
