What an awesome album, this exactly like "big beat". A style of music that enjoyed a period of mainstream success in the UK in the mid 90's. Think later prodigy releases, fatboy slim and orbital. I remember this underground style of music was played everywhere at one point and nobody knew most of it was Amiga tracker music. It was being played in night clubs up and down the country alongside "real" music. I've definitely heard at least 5 of these songs played in clubs. It's weird to think the original authors probably had no idea how infamous they were. It's not like you could go out and buy it as the only people that had these songs were the DJ's and people interested in the demo scene and tracker music.

but this ISNT amiga music. its 16bit sounds running in upto 64 channels. an amiga cant do that. not a real amiga. so he needs to stop cashing in on the "amiga music" title, as us REAL amiga fans dont want to see faking of our beloved computer

BZR Player plays back OSS files bzrplayer.blazer.nu/ but from memory I think it might be a little buggy but give it a go it might be fine. If you're after a tracker/editor only then I'm not sure, maybe OpenMPT works :/ openmpt.org/

off1k i wouldn’t recommend MPT as it sometimes just fucks up the MED modules. i used the win version of octamed to render some trax instead of mpt bcuz of that..

Tracker music, but not technically amiga music since you're using more than 4 channels and probably higher quality samples (the amiga used 8bit samples). Still, really nice :)

Tracker music yes, AMIGA tracker music. This music was made on an AMIGA using AMIGA software (Octamed Soundstudio) = 100% technically Amiga music. The samples here are a mix of 8bit and 16bit that can be played back at 14bit (AHI) on an Amiga without any extra sound hardware, ofcourse the 8bit samples won't be any better, the 16bit samples should be very close to their true value. The Amiga game Turrican 2 and other titles has 7 channel sound for the intro and outro, surely you're not going to say they're not technically Amiga music because they're more than 4 channels. Octamed Pro can use 8 channels, it can be used as 8 sample channels or 4 sample channels with 4 MIDI channels on stock Amiga, from memory I think you can mix it up however you want between PCM and MIDI within 8 channels. The Amiga soundchip is a 4 hardware channel PCM, upto 28khz or 56khz depending on Screenmode, 4 independent DACS as each audio channel has it's own DMA channel. That's just on the surface, the channels internally can be split into multiple channels depending on CPU performance. Octamed SS has support for up to 64 channels, Octamed has support for 8 channels (hint is in the name) as Med only had support for 4 channels, then there's roughly another 170 music/sound routines made for Amiga with varying audio channels. As I said to the other guy below these tunes sound just as good on the real deal (Amiga 1200), maybe even better.

You're wrong, an accelerated Amiga can play these just fine, a stock Amiga 500 or stock Amiga 1200 no chance but my Amiga 1200 with 060/50 (back in the day) no problems, even an 030/40mhz or 50mhz would be fine too for most of them. These tunes use a mix of 8bit and 16bit samples and play them back at 14bit on Amiga. These tunes were created on an Amiga using Octamed SoundStudio back in ~1997 according to DJ Nick.
