I attended a bear healing ceremony. The Bear dancers prepared for this Ceremony. Start it with a sweat lodge and then at night the ceremony took place. The bear dancers wore bear skins just like this Woman. The bear spirit would come into each Spare dancer and take over their body. The people would stand in a circle around the arena. And as the bear circle they would choose somebody that needed healing. It called this the hook up. They take your hand and lead you to their back and you would stand behind them but put both hands-on the bare dancer's shoulders. I was fortunate to experience the hook. The bear spirit came in to me and it was strong it was a female bear. The medicine man would be in the circle with the Bear dancers with burning sage and Eagle fence to calm the bare spirits down because sometimes they Become restless or agitated. The ceremony took place under a full moon it was so beautiful and powerful I'll never forget it. Thank you for posting this

I was fortunate enought to see a bear dance with my son at an event in Covelo, Ca. He was three and asleep by midnight when it began but I woke him up for the bear dance and to this day he remembers it with full details. Very powerful

It's good to see the female bear dancer. Several years ago the Pauite Nation in California said they had been waiting over 200 years for the female bear spirit to Come into the women to balance their male bear energy. The medicine man said they Male bear energy was in balance without the female bear.
