Man I’m sitting here crying listening to this before work. This song always tore me up because it was so relatable. I was cruel to the people who loved me, I was unkind because I was in so much pain. My best friend was killed by her boyfriend in a drunk driving accident and I was heartbroken, I still am. I turned to drugs and alcohol to cope with that. I felt like I lost everything, and no matter how much the people around me tried to help I pushed them further away. Now I’m sober and trying to be a better man, and it’s hard but I keep trying. I always knew my friend would have loved your music, and this feels like a little message from her in a way. Thank you Amigo, for all that you do. I love you and miss you Anjuli, I hope things are better for you now wherever you are ❤

Your friend would be proud of you. And everyone processes in their own way. Take it easy on yourself. The world has let all of us down for so long. But you must care for your inner child because the world is a mean place, and no one else will. You are counting on you for survival. Be good to that lil kid. Your best friend would insist. And it's just a lost little let down, hurt person. All it needs is a little love and TLC and guidance and you're already doing great. Just keep going.

All any of us can do is try. You're a better person than a lot of people out there who don't try, and don't care about anyone else. This man's music speaks so powerfully to us because we've been through some stuff, and we do care about being better. I wish to hell I could remember the good things I've done with a fraction of the clarity that I remember the mistakes and the bad things. Hang in there, the world needs people like you who are trying.

I saw him live years ago. Had no clue who he was. We were walking into a stadium, waiting for Clutch, Hatebreed and Dropkick Murphys. As we walked in, buying shirts or whatever. You know... the normal. This guy started playing on the speakers. My brother and I looked at each other and we're like "Wtf!?" We ran and saw him on stage, alone and just pouring out his soul. No fans. Empty arena. He stole the show. Just to let you know, there was 3 of us. We all had that "favorite" band playing that night. For me it was Clutch. My brother it was Hatebreed. Our friend, it was Dropkick Murphys. We all left wanting more of Amigo. Just goes to show you the power of an acoustic and the soul from which it plays. Still to this day, I will never forget how powerful those rifts and lyrics were. An unknown artist had hit our soul and changed us. It was from the heart. His heart and what he went through. Yet, it was what we all went through. Fuck... that dude hit home.

Yesterday was the fifth anniversary of my boyfriend's death. I found him in our bedroom after he hung himself. I've been up all night onward into the next day and haven't shed a tear till now. Just been drinking, and partaking in a bit of the ole fetanyl. I've listened to this song so many times before, but, tonight felt different. I needed to cry.. I needed a different perspective listening to this. Thank you for helping me heal Amigo. ❤

Still one of the greatest songs and the deep rumbly echo of the cave really gives it that extra oompf

This is, legitimately, one of the most powerful songs I've ever heard. The regret, agony, and hope are all put forth with an emotional and vocal depth few could hope to imitate, yet reverberated through the echoes of the cave in a way so haunting it transcends the core of your soul. Personally, this version is an outright improvement over the studio release. A man, his guitar, and his ethereal voice. Everything is indeed fine.

The lyrics changing to "And I've tried having faith, but I'll rot like a dove" really hit me differently than they already did. Bravo, man. This is definitely one of my favourite tracks of yours.

When I first found this song last year it moved me so much, it thrust me deep into parts of myself that I did not understand were killing me. A catalyst if you will for a very hard yet NEEDED year of self discovery. I'll forever be grateful for this song, dude is the best for going to these dark places. I can't imagine it's easy to be this introspective.

Was both looking forward to, and dreading, seeing this one in the cave. Song always hits hard, on the good days and the bad. Love it so much. Don't get me wrong, I love all your music. But I always got a soft spot for this song, as well as Hell and You in the grotto. Keep on rockin'! Wishin you the best!

TFW you encounter the right song at the right time and it emotionally rips you open and hangs your insides on a barbed-wire fence, in a way you had no idea you desperately needed.

TFW you realize the next song and the next and the next all tear you apart more and more but in the best of ways. "like biting a gun but the safety is on" pretty much sums up the ATD experience.

Such a beautiful song that resonates so well with the regrets and quest for healing of so many. It makes me greatful for the healing I and so many others have found in God. If you too fear loving some one more than you are loved I want to encourage you to seek God. He loves you more than you can ever return and brings a healing and restoration that is unimaginable. Read the story of Paul in Acts. It is a tale of a hate filled mass murderer turned deliverer of peace and hope. If he can find restoration and purpose through God's love, so can you.
