This was really helpful. Ive never sewed before in my life and my amigurumi owl came out perfectly and does not look messy at all!! :)

Great technique but I wish you had started from the beginning and explained hiw/where to start and if you are using a separate piece of yarn or the tail from the shell piece? Also would ge good to see how you finished it.

I used a different colour of yarn to make it clear for the video; you'd usually use the long yarn tail from the piece you're attaching, and just work all the way around the edge, until the entire open edge is attached. Finishing options will be in a separate video - subscribe to my channel to be notified when I've finished that one!

Thank you for this!!!! It was extremely helpful. I knew there was a right way to sew on pieces, but I didn't know what it was. My amigurumi looks beautiful and very cleanly sewn.

do you have a longer left hand version of this? I kind of understand but would have liked s few more stiches worked so I could make sure i understand. and I loved the purple but I felt like at the point I needed to see, it was edited or broke up or something. thank you

There are only two needle motions for this: one horizontal stitch into the base piece, and one vertical stitch through both loops of the open piece. I show the whole process several times, so I'd recommend you go back to the start of the purple stitches section and re-watch that section if you need to see more stitches made - every stitch is formed from just those two needle insertions!
