Holy drums Ami, you not only aced this you !!!!! This. As a true fan of Uriah Heap you made this 70's rocker, well " put in tears my eyes ". Bonus the purple heels with double bass drums is a adage bonus. It only added the needed cover for this Heap classic. More, more, and more please.

I guess this would work. However, Ian Clarke was not playing a quarter note shuffle when he laid this track down on the studio album. He was actually playing a straight halftime shuffle laying an alternating backbeat between the first rack tom and the snare as the the main groove. A lot of drummers always feel more comfortable playing the quarter note halftime shuffle because it’s easier and more relaxing to play. They do this on “easy livin” as well where Lee Kerslake is playing a straight four on the floor halftime mirror shuffle with the back beat on the snare alone. I have yet to find anyone on KZbin playing either of these tracks in the correct manner that they were recorded in the studio. Mick Box even had their current drummer change the way he was playing it from a quarter note feel to a straight shuffle feel on both “look at yourself“ and “easy livin”. Sorry for being so technical, but I am a huge, huge Uriah Heep fan and these are two of Uriah Heep‘s biggest songs. I just like to see them being replicated correctly.

Yes, Indeed. The original playing is more difficult. At the same time, this, more usual rock playing makes the song more "agressive" (but not brutal). I first listened to this song (witch is my favorite of UH-for both text and music) remade by the metal group Gamma Ray. I love both of the two versions. They are perfect for each style of music.
