my 1 year guitar progress

While stuck at home during the pandemic, I found myself watching countless guitar videos on KZbin and was consequently inspired to pick up my sister's old, neglected acoustic for the first time. I knew from the start that I wanted to play electric, but I started out acoustic because that's what we had at home. My progress has been mostly self teaching, with about 2 months of (online) classical lessons in between. I definitely practiced the most and made the most progress in the first month, when I stuck with learning just 2-3 difficult finger style songs (eg. my heart will go on). I would literally just play each part over and over again until i kinda got it and could move on to next part and by the end, I basically memorized it.
Some background on my music experience: I played a bit of piano as a kid and clarinet in high school. I'm definitely not a stellar guitar student, and my practicing was quite sporadic at times especially when I got swamped with schoolwork, as you'll see in the video. Also, it's actually been over 2 years since I first started learning in 2020, but to be honest I haven't improved nearly as much this past year as I did in the first year. With that said, I'm really glad to have picked up guitar because it has become one of my favorite hobbies and something that I can play without too much pressure.
