My paternal great grandfather was King Willem the 111's head man and always went riding with him. My grandfather who came to South Africa was born in Appledoorn. His surname was van Leersum.

A Complete Historic Document about the most Beautyful Palace in NETHERLANDS , , The HUISTEN BOSCH Must be Beautyful But The Public dont have acces for mo0re Chambers , Saloons And Galleries so for me this is My Favorite , Thanks God the Soestdijk is become a Hotel , maybe they can give some touch of Greatness because see that Palace from Its Front It looks Everything but a Palace

Mooi gedaan, maar in 1686 (voltooiing van het paleis door bouwmeester Jacobus Roman), was Willem III nog geen Koning-Stadhouder. Hij werd dat pas in 1689, na zijn Invasie in Engeland (1688) en het aanvaarden van het koningschap over Engeland en Schotland en de Glorious Revolution in 1689.

I dont understand why King WILLEM ALEXANDER and QUEEN MAXIMA , dont give a use to this majestic Palace , in my opinion a JEWEL in the Crown, , Soestdijk Palace was not atractive and the exterior was really something not to be call Palace , but this one is beautyful, , Compact , more in the style of Downtown abbey, , HET LOO and HET LOO ODE are for me the best in Netherlands.

I totally agree with you. But our royal family does not use palace Soestdijk as well. Huis ten bosch is currently the home of our king and queen.
