Thanks mzee @Owana. Had Baba Moi not accepted to end his 24 yr rule in 2002, he wouldn't have deserved to celebrate end of Amin rule. Also, may be we might need to re-write history & debunk some falsehoods on Amin especially. This man loved Uganda at heart! Some of the killings we saw were confessed by 'other' people, but we had blamed them on Amin. Lastly, had Amin had a m7-like brain (not heart), he would've stayed longer in power by organizing elections (whose winner is always known b4), beefed his intelligence & Uganda would be a 2nd world country by now! God bless Ug

I agree with you that great East African leaders like Amin and Siad Barre the former President of Somalia before the civil war both of these leaders are scapegoated 💯
@drakephilant4075 ай бұрын
@@Mo77217 Yes Siad Barre was a great leader. In fact, he helped calm the Nyerere-Amin row in its early stages, but the saboteurs (mr m7) could not let this happen. He needed to capitalize on this conflict, thus devising all 'means' to keep it alive. Mess not with the brain of mr m7.

Thanks Mr. Owana for this. It is clear that Idi Amin Dada will never 'die', even as he's supposed to be resting, he keeps all of us awake by his intriguing life and works. This can be evidenced by the reaction of Yoweri M7 recently to the proposal to establish an Idi Amin Institute. 21 years in the grave, Idi Amin still keeps M7 awake! This is Owana's contribution, all of us affected by Amin will have to play a part, by reading, researching, and always questioning all naratives of this remarkable son of Africa, wherever you stand, for or against him. The truth will be told. Where are the mass graves of the 300,000-500,000 people claimed to have been killed between 1971-1979, where are lists of the missing persons in their hundreds of thousands? Let's not forget the great social control tool called PROPAGANDA. It is a netral word and practice that can be employed for good or bad.
@1wun15 ай бұрын
Those mass graves were most likely pure fabrications, one can't easily hide that.

Ooh yeah it's Non other than de man himself Idd Amin Dada Salongo the Conqueror of the British Empire D.s.o, heavy Weight Champion of Uganda! Born to a Kakwa father and Lugbara mother. In 1946, he joined the King's African Rifles (KAR) of the British Colonial Army as a cook. He rose to the rank of lieutenant, taking part in British actions against Somali rebels and then the Mau Mau Uprising in Kenya. Uganda gained independence from the United Kingdom in 1962, and Amin remained in the army, rising to the position of major and being appointed commander of the Uganda Army in 1965. He became aware that Ugandan President Milton Obote was planning to arrest him for misappropriating army funds, so he launched the 1971 Ugandan coup d'état and declared himself president! Big up to Owanapedia the one Stop Center of Uganda's history. ✍️😷🙏

Owanapaedia this is a good reminder but I feel sad because the same Museveni who is now parading himself as the greatest leader, turn against the liberation of 11 April 1979. If this remembrance included the gallant sons and daughters of Uganda who contributed very much to the liberation were also in the celebration I and many Ugandans would be the happiest Ugandans on earth. Not because I Amin was removed but because those who chose to free Uganda and Ugandans from Amin kept their promise and gave Ugandans that freedom they wanted so much. The war against Amin though it gave Ugandans freedom, it is something none of us should be happy about. It should never have happened, that is, Amin should never have come to power if we have had the center of administration of Uganda that united us. The Ugandans who were in exile in Tanzania was a very bad beginning of our history. This was due to the bad politics of Uganda coming from Kampala the center of administration. If Kampala was a uniting factor, the 1966 crisis would never have happened. The assassination attempt agianst Obote in 1968 and 1969 would never have happened. The assassination of the deputy army commander in Gulu in 1970 including his wife (Brig. Okoya and his was Anna Akello) would never have happened. Even the 1981 rebellion against the UPC government by Museveni and his Tutsi brothers would never have happened. Unfortunately, the center of administration of Uganda (Kampala) has been and has remained our biggest problem. Today Ugandans do not know the faith of the country should Museveni who is now old leave the world. The demcracy that was started in 1980 election where the people of Uganda elected the UPC party to lead them out of the economic and security destruction to normality was shot and killed in the bushes of Luwero by the Museveni's thugs the NRA. A force terrorising Uganda and Ugandans to date. They (NRA/M) put in place a kangaroo democracy, they shoot, arrest, detain, torture and even kill the children of Ugandans they claim to have liberated from Obote and his UPC/northerners. One thing I would like to say is that despite the lies every time being vomited against late president Obote, UPC and UNLA, not a single Minister under Obote I & II, not a single (UA), UNLA army officers including men and women has ever been sanctioned by the international community. Even during the time of Luwero bush war, none has been sactioned. If we love Uganda more than our tribes then lets find out what actually is our problem and change the country for the better.
