If Im not mistaken this song was written during PKP period and his dad was sick and he could not go home. That’s why in the lyrics…ku ingin pulang. But for the AJL performance he dedicated it for the Palestinians who had died. Those arabic words at the backdrop were the names of those Palestinians. 🤍

Amir did mention that this AJL presentation was a solidarity to all the martyrs in Palestine.. all the fallen names on the tree represent the names of the martyrs (syaheed).. I was literally crying knowing this deep message. it is also true that this song was written in PKP when he got the news that his father got stage 4 cancer and he couldn’t come back straight away.. He was well deserved to win.. such a deep and soothing song. Thank you Nephi and Aki for being there and do this reaction❤

If im not mistaken amir jahari wrote this song purely from the imaginur movie/script..after a while ,hes father passed away, he feel like this song is a pov from his father to him . For this performance,he dedicated this sing for the people at gaza. And as u can see the tree behind him ,have arabic word written.those arabic letters is the name of each people that passed away since the genocide All his friend gathered and help him so that he can make this show beautiful, including his ex manager The two cameo ,is actually the main actor and actress from the movie , and they also help amir to make a special appearance. All the "backup vocal" is actually his fans/friend/student from the community he created called NUSANTARASA. And im of them. Fun fact..there are only 6 people from NUSANTARASA that seated in the audience seat. And karim, the percussionist for this band perform with his late child picture put beside him😭 The band called "hamba" is a new faces in AJL..this is their first time perform there.. I know im bias ..but this performances is super magical for us and all people .. Im so happy amir song touch all the audience heart and won this comp

For those who dont really know the origin of the song, can relate deeply to the lyrics and/melody itself. I also feel sebak when listening to the song especially the lyrics in chorus but i couldnt put into words why. Then i saw someone wrote something about the song saying when amir sing “teriaklah” softly its like a gentle plea to the heart, even the hardened heart, to cry. Whatever youre facing at that moment, its like saying, its ok to cry. Cry can actually soothe our body from overwhelming situations. Crying doesn’t mean youre weak. Crying can actually make you more stronger afterwards. Thats what i think and can relate to.
