Oh yes, she's good. She won the competition that year. I presume you listened to the judges comments and reactions, how she explained that she'd had no singing lessons. Of course, once she'd won, she was given coaching to record an album, and her technical skills shot up immeasurably. Listen to her sing this same song six months later, with the Andre Rieu orchestra. 10 years later, she is now studying music at university, and there are 10 years worth of stunning performances behind her, a lot on YT to be explored and enjoyed.

Great reaction! Subscribed. Amira's father is a pianist and organist, and her mother and brother play the violin. Amira's maternal grandfather was an operatic tenor. Amira was born with the perfect physical, mental and psychological apparatus to be a super soprano. For Amira, singing at the highest level is as easy as speaking. It was worth reacting to her singing Ave Maria in the semi-final with a quality and power that very few adult sopranos could achieve. Amira has over a billion views on KZbin and some 90 of her videos have over a million views each. She sings several genres.

Thanks for reacting to this beautiful soul. She is 20 now and continues to dazzle the world with her voice and character. Yes, i hope you listened to the rest of the video as you find out more about her and hear the judges respond to her answers. She sang a total of 3 opera arias to win the HGT competition with incredibly building confidence as if she was just singing at home. Each song reached millions across the globe and i guess she had big expectations on each succeeding appearance. May i suggest you follow up with the final 2 arias, Ave Maria (Bach) and Nessun Dorma (Puccini). 🥰

Amira is so very much more than that amazingly incredible God given voice. Look into her. The more you do, the more amazed you will be. She is 20 now and in college, studying music, of course. Through this time she has accomplished some truly incredible things. The Pope named her Humanitarian of the Year, just a couple of years after the performance you just watched for the work done by a foundation she started with her winnings from that contest. She made the 2020 Olympic team as a middle distance runner. They didn't go to the Olympics that year because of covid. A couple of years ago, the opera world named her Soprano of the Year. From all accounts she is humble, sweet and caring. She truly is a wonderful gift from God to a world that does not deserve a wonderful, amazing, incredible blessing that is this young woman.

Pity you didn't play the judges' comments, you would have learned a lot more about her. Ten years later Amira was invited back to the same stage to sing in All Stars. See the Full Segment which includes the panel's comments a a biographical sketch.

It is a great pity that you stopped the video and did not look any further until you got the response from the jury members and that would provide many answers to the questions you are asking, questions that you are now answering yourself.
