Thanks Ray glad to see you're still an advocate for our beloved Amira. The best music video I've ever seen was compiled by yourself to accompany her singing "How great thou art" but tragically had to be taken down by the copyright fascists. That was a brave thing to do, sing a cappella and shows how confident she is of her God given talent. I remember being moved to tears when I listened to her first album and this song was included. What a nice video you did, thanks ! It's so difficult to sing a song a cappella at any age, and I think Amira was only 11 then (sorry if I was wrong). Doesn't matter, she nailed it. And now, I would like she could sing this aria again, and "Lascia ch'io pianga" too...

Well Bsirta, to be honest with you: the recording of her CD "AmIra" which includes 'Ombra Mai Fu', took place during the fall of 2013. She was 9 (nine) years old at the time. Almost unbelievable, right?

In my humble opinion, with Amira's bright, clear and radiant tone, her large vocal range, her fluent English and good French and Italian accent, it would be a pity not to perform the baroque arias by Haendel, Purcell or Rameau.😊 PS. I'm a French native and, hearing Amira when she sang Plaisir d'Amour on a video in 2019, I can testify that her French accent is really, really good.

PS. By the way, do you know this video ? "Young Mimi charms us with "Onse Mimi"'s hits". This is a short interview, given by Amira last year, where she spoke about her concert "Mimi sing Mimi" and paid a heartfeld tribute to the iconic South African soprano. She said that her country is not only famous for rugby, but also by people like Mimi, and that her mother Frieda always enjoyed her...
