Trapsoul is his best album bc it’s the first one. There’s nothing you could compare it to, bc it’s the first one. This logic could be applied to any movie w/ a sequel or a tv series. The general consensus w/ sequels is that they’re typically trash, solely because it’s not as good as the first. Also, being that it’s the first album, there’s no telling how much time/effort/energy he put into this album. It could’ve been years for all we know. (Ex: Arcane S1 took 9 years to make) Way before we know who he was. Way before he got signed (which comes w/ its own troubles). Also life, he was in a different place in his life when he dropped this album. You can tell he put his heart and soul into it.

Bryson and Tory really blew up around the same time, I’m fortunate enough to have already had been listening to their mixtapes before then and they were really my top 2. But watching their careers and how Tory’s work ethic and craft just crushed Bryson’s really ruined his music for me and continuing to grow with him as an artist Comparison is the theft of joy. I feel like after trap soul he RARELY hits that A or A+ game again and becomes a radio act from where he was.
@AmiriHipHop9 сағат бұрын
May I ask though, what does Tory's career have to do with Bryson's? Of course they're both RnB Singers/Rappers of course, but saying that you saw Tory work harder and get further in his career than Bryson made Bryson's music a little ruined for you.....why ? Even if Tory blew past Drake for example and became like one of the biggest singers/rappers of all-time, how does that "ruin" Bry's music for you ?
@LavaIshawtLink9 сағат бұрын
@ bc for me they were competing for my top spot, in my head I tied their careers together and Tory knocked Bryson out the competition completely after maybe 2018-2019. I still followed Bryson’s career but could tell there was something missing and something Tory had in him as an artist that Bryson no longer had. I could still enjoy him but not like I used to because of it, or I would listen to tracks and tell “aw he’s just bullshitting” and his music stopped being fun. Some of his mixtapes were just him having fun and that’s my favorite from an artist. In my eyes Tory’s star dimmed Byron’s based on the potential he didn’t reach, and the pedestal I had them on.
