Let's fix Panasonic SL-S260 CD player

You have to turn on the anti-shock in order to work. You could also increase a little the power of the laser.

@@InsideOutElectronics Of course, I understand... But think of this, when you turn on the anti-shock, the device stores music for 10''. If it cant store music properly for 10'', if it skips or pauses instantly, it wont work properly even with the anti-shock. Ive noticed this on my Panasonic. Also note that the laser becomes weak over time and increasing the power of the laser usually solves these problems.

@@papertoyss sure thing, i want to refrain of tweaking laser power unless i really-really need to. Also techically it is setting the gain of the laser feedvack circuit. Which means less gain on photo diode = more power on laser to compensate

@@InsideOutElectronics 👍This indeed sounds proffessional, something which Im not - on these issues anyway. As an amateur myself after performing a thorough research on these problems, I decided to increase the laser power on an old Discman of mine and I have to say it was a success. I just turned the screw ~1mm to the right, I observed the result, I had to turn it yet another 1mm and the device worked and without a single problem eversince. It indeed worked for me and for three old cd players I couldnt till then use. Of course as I said Im an amateur and you should not take what I say for granted.

I have an audiovox cd player from 2003. It was playing cd's and the fm radio, then it shut off. The batteries are fine. What could be the problem?😮

Thank you for watching, I would start checking if power gets to the player. Measure voltage on capacitors

@@InsideOutElectronics Mine works fine, turns on and gives options as normal, the thing is when i insert the disc and close it, it says "no disc" as if it did not recognize the CD, what should i do?

Impossible.... very close system. Well technically possible but, will require a lot of efforts to hack the bootloader
