Just want to start out by saying I am surprised by the amount this video has taken off. To answer some of the comments and give the back story. First off this isn't a new building. This building was previously used as a tin shop I think it was built around 2015. That family decided to move another part of the country 4 or 5 years ago. This building has been sitting empty ever since. The new owner of the property decided he was going to demolish the building. A neighbor was going to build a new leather harness shop, basically anything involving leather. Yes, I have joked with him about anything to do with leather :) He purchased the building, with the intent to move it. Why waste the building when it's in great shape is what he told me. Also, it was faster to move the building then take it down and rebuild it in the new location, only took 20 minutes to carry it to new location. Think he spent a few by himself making sure the Sonotubes where in the correct spot to set the building down on and adding braces to inside of building to keep the walls from moving while lifting. We are guessing there are roughly 140-150 people lifting the building. Best guess they were lifting between 50 to 75lbs (22 to 35 kgs), hard to tell walking that distance with a building in your arms. At the end of the video, you can count them leaving the building just haven't taken the time to count. Some have asked why not use wheels. Mostly it was because of time. The amount of dirt that would have needed to be moved to get wheels through two ditches, plus the 180 turn at the end with limited space. It had to go down slightly to miss the power lines crossing onto the dirt road. Then the number one reason was you don't need overweight or over width permits if you just carry it🤷‍♂🤣 Yes, I asked about filming this, they wanted to see it afterwards as well. I have lots of videos with the Amish I should post more, or at least a short of the limo they arrived in. Total cost of moving it was a lot of coffee, a bunch of sheet pizzas, and a volleyball net to play volleyball afterwards. As for the haircuts I have nothing, let's just say the hair looks better with straw hats on. Thanks for watching!

As a German it was really nice to hear them switch between their German dialect and English. They reminded me the first of May back in the Bavarian village I used to spend all my holidays and weekends, when the "may-tree" (old pagan tradition still in use in parts of Germany) would be set up with only the force of the men of the village. The atmosphere was exactly the same.

It's easy to romanticize. It's like the military, you must shed your personal identity to become a collective. Any personal kink is straightened out. That feeling of freedom is intense, but it's escapism. You escape your self, into the collective. You're freed from the burden of responsibility and above all - choice. You don't have to think. I have had the pleasure of meeting a few Amish and a few Menonites: they are always kind, friendly and respectful. I knew a guy in college named David who was Amish (and identified with the comminity) but he had a passion for astronomy and astrophotgraphy. He actually had a laptop computer, a very nice Celestron 12" Schmitt-Cassagranian telescope and a really expensive CCD imager. I joked with him that I didn't think they used electricity let alone computers, and he replied to me that the Elders surprisingly did not frown on this particular vanity simply because they also enjoyed seeing some of "God's Other Works." Working in the building trades around Lancaster County PA, you inevitably run into Amish framers/trim guys/cabinet guys. Incredibly talented and industrious. Friendly and easy to work with. With that being said it’s a known thing here that the Amish carpenters are able to bid thousands of dollars lower than other contractors because of their tax exempt status. For example, I’m in a very niche section of the custom home building industry where the low end of homes we do are 1.5 million and 5-10k sq ft. Routinely do 30 million/30k square foot places so really nothing comparatively. But I know on the last house that the Amish farmer won the bid because he was like 30k cheaper than the closest bid. And did great work-but that will start to rub your peers the wrong way for sure and I understand some of the negative sentiment ive seen in the industry here locally

It depends on the Amish. There are very iolated and wary groups in the midwest. The Pennsylvania Amish are more modernized, they kinda had too. They do so much business with other residents that they are partially integrated by finding loopholes. Like they can't own a cell phone, but their employees can, so they give a phone to an employee but use it during the day. Teen Amish girls are in high demand by Pennsylvania families because they have already raised kids, are hard workers, and trustworthy as nannies and housekeepers. So they work in other homes as well. That one guy has a modern pair of sunglasses.

Men, young men and even some young women all pitched in getting the trailer unloaded. Afterwards they always approached me and would ask lots of questions about my trip. Hungry for news and a description of how my drive out to them had gone. Kinda felt like I had stepped back in time. Like I was a traveler going west being pumped for news about what's going on in the world outside their community. Always pleasant dealing with these folks👍😺

Some cultures have better values and cultural norms, but the human heart is as the Bible says "Deceitful and wicked above measure. Who can know it?" ive spent some time in missouri which has a large amish population. theyre very kind people. as long as you respect their customs and lives theyre more than happy to let you into their little world for a peek. theyre not gonna hiss at you and chase you off just because you have a camera or a car they simply dont live that way and thats alright. in fact they make some AMAZING food and make some really good products. best honey i ever tasted came from an amish farm.

@@tavish4699 So my grandpa was Amish and my grandma was English, they got together and when he got my grandma pregnant he ended up being shunned from the community for breaking to many rules, he left and was basically never seen again but we stayed in the same community. So I grew up English but went to school with Amish, most of my friends were Amish and it was something I took interest in. Some of my friends could even be my family but I'll never know since we never got to ask my grandma who he was before she passed. She never wanted to talk about him but all we knew was that he was Amish when they met but at soon as he jumped the fence he left the state and had no contact with anyone what so ever.

It’s a bit amazing how easy a heavy lift can be with a few extra bodies. Worked as a HVAC tech and sometimes moving a big roof top AC units by manpower was 100x easier than calling in a crane. Get 6-8 guys out on the job and pick the sucker up and walk it where it needs to be. Not always can a crane reach that far out across a roof without bringing in an incredibly huge expensive crane.

Hats off to you guys, one morning I was driving to work and noticed a huge helicopter in my local Walmart parking lot, they were replacing all the rooftop a/c units with the thing. They had a pilot and spotter in passenger seat with his head out the window guiding the pilot. They were making quick work of those units..

No way humans built the pyramids I think the Nephilim which are Giants that are produced from fallen angles mating with humans who bring offsprings that are over 10ft tall are insanely strong. These creatures could have built the pyramids, in the bible it says Nephilim exist before and after the flood of Noah and the Egyptian civilization came to be after God destroyed the tower of Babel and split the people to different nations. Nephilim still existed after the flood so they could have built the pyramids.

I'm a very independent person so I can't imagine being happy living the Amish lifestyle. That being said, I live in Pennsylvania and I've met some Amish folks. They are wonderful people and I admire their sense of dedication to their community. I grew up working ranches and sometimes bailing hay in the Texas panhandle. That's hard work. I recently stopped during a motorcycle ride to watch some Amish boys bailing hay with a horse-drawn bailer. It was powered only by the horses, with long belt drives, like you might see in pictures from the 1910's. I don't think anyone there was over 16 years old but those boys were getting after it. I bet any one of those boys are strong enough to strangle a bobcat. I have a lot of respect for the Amish.

@@webads247 He clearly meant “independent” in the individual sense of the word. They’re disconnected from modern society in America but they’re definitely not independent, they’re very community and family oriented. They’re some of the most “dependent” people in American society and by that I mean they’re very reliant on their community. Most Amish people couldn’t live the same lifestyle on their own outside of their communities because the kind of work they do isn’t individualistic; it’s a community effort.

I'm a white south African Afrikaner. I'm a boer. Was driving through Pennsylvania on my visit in the US and bumped into 2 amish guys. Overheard them speaking and could actually understand what they were chatting about a bit. I also saw some in fields and they looked as how our forefathers dressed. It felt like I was in a time lapse of my own families past somewhat. Was a very surreal experience. We both share the same blood from European origin. I'm not too sure about their history too much but ours is marred by dust, blood, and conflict. We are die hard in our beliefs, are very patriotic of our heritage and We are farmers, and It was very strange to come across these people that seemed somewhat similar but so far apart.
