I had a Crown Vic Country Squire station wagon when Desert Storm hit. I was in Texas, Giddings, and the Peanut farmer knew my mom. So he gave me a 100 lb. bag of raw, shelled Spanish peanuts to make brittle for my husbands soldiers in Iraq. I made over 150 lbs. of brittle the time he was there. I'm going to go with Amish. I love boiled peanuts.

I believe I'll refrain from stating either way. I lived in Mennonite country in west Texas and my mother grew up living near the largest population of Amish in Iowa ☺ I love flea markets but only go when the temperatures are below 90° 👍 I live only 1 hour from Canton Texas; Google their 1st Monday trade days!!

@@awlkdural5396 I guess the Amish around PA are stricter. Times are looser too. The Amish women I grew up with wore black hose and plain black shoes.

Just looking at their clothing, I would guess Amish. At the Mennonite bakery here, they dress a little more modern.

EA Those are Amish. The Mennonites do not adhere to strict dress codes like the Amish, unless they are Old Order Mennonites. Just thought I would let you know we have a town called Collinsville here in Oklahoma. In fact, I worked my very first job at a Simple Simon's Pizza in that little town. I want add that the Amish do not liked to be filmed or photographed. They believe it is of the devil because it is modern technology. So next time you may wanna ask them if they want to be filmed. My sister got admonished by an old Amish man for taking pictures of his family. Luckily I was able to calm him down when he realized this Auslander(outsider) spoke German. We had a nice convo and I promised him my sister would never do that again.
@ExploringAlabama5 жыл бұрын
So I could have woo'd them with German? I'll try that next time. I remember a little "wo ist der Bahnhof"
@digdugs575 жыл бұрын
@@ExploringAlabama I don't know if "where is the train station?" will get you anywhere but you can give it a try lol. Most Amish, Mennonites, and Hutterites speak Pennsylvania Dutch which is a blend of English and Palantine German. So you will be able to carry on a convo but keep in mind you and him will be speaking different dialects of German. There may be some misunderstandings so be patient. They are very kind people and easy to get along with.
