Applied for a food service job that required standing, walking and lifting up to 40 lbs, replied yes, no issues with the requirements, then asked if this would impact his social security disability check. Also, when asked how he would handle conflict with a coworker, he replied punch them in the face. And was completely serious

I worked at an electrical coop’s warehouse for a while. One guy was being escorted around by the boss being shown everything and stuff. He then tells my boss “there is alot of copper here, you can get XXX per pound for those copper”. Yeah, thats not a good look bud

I had a business that did industrial electronics. A lot of our work was for three school systems. I needed to hire a tech, so I took the young man on a service call at a high school where he kept staring at the pretty, underage girls. I had to apologize to the principal and tell them that he wouldn't be working for me. He was also telling me that I should do shoddy work, to make more money. I was well known for high quality work ad fair prices so that was another strike against him. The last I heard,, he was patching up old arcade games at minimum wages.

Honestly, if you're going to do video interviews, then you are partially bringing your business into another person's home, and you shouldn't expect their entire world to pause for your convenience. If the repair guy shows up, that's when he shows up and that's when the person living in that house has to get up and interact with them, job interview or not. If that's unacceptable to you, bring them into the office for the interview.

I think this was more about the way he handled this. Don't just yell how you're only away a moment when it's 5 minutes, actually say something like "sorry, I have to ..." and "this was the only time they had available" or whatever - if you can, start the interview with "I'm sorry, but I might need to interrupt for the repair guy because ... (reason you couldn't avoid this)" and so forth. That is, demonstrate that you know the interviewer's time is also valuable. (And don't make the explanations overly long, because, interviewer's time again! If they really want details, they'll ask. Otherwise, keep it short, but don't just ignore the problem.)

Apologies for this not really being related to the stories or anything, but it's just kinda surprising to see the background game being Sunset Overdrive. I feel like people hyped that game up big time, but then once it actually came out everything went quiet. Like, ngl, I got to play it eventually, I like it, good game, just seemed so weird that it was so... flash in the pan? Then again, maybe I just missed on a lot of the post-release chatter. :D
