I graduated H.S. in 1965, last time I was contacted for a reunion was in 1985, I’ve not been contacted since. Last time I met anyone from H.S. was in 1968. Marriage, military, college, business ownership and moving to the Great State of Texas may have had something to do with my lack of interest in reunions. Besides, all the hot girls are now old grandmothers or great grand mothers, I doubt we would recognize each other let alone remember each others names.

Not a reunion but close to the end of summer break I thought that once school started i'd get loads of complements or people would find me more interesting because of how much I changed for the better. Total physical and mental glow up. That's when I learned that I'm so horrible not even that could save me from being considered a social mess and a freak.

A guy who’s picture was on the memorial board showed up alive and well. Turns out a guy that had the same name and was the same age drowned the summer after graduation. He wasn’t a well known person at school.

I went to my 10-year high school reunion (54 years ago!) but came late because I had to work until 9 p.m. When I got there almost everyone was sloppy drunk and I've never been to any since.

Reunion would be scary and amazing at the same time. My schools in Toronto never had such things. Strange, especially since I went to an art school where reunion would be more interesting. The tough part would be reaching people

This year would’ve been my 20-year class reunion. I’ve never been to one nor will I ever attend one throughout my lifetime. I never fit in during high school and I do not wish the best for my peers.

This year would have been my 35th if there is one this year. I have no clue if their will be or not as I don't give a crap. I have never gone to a single one of mine. They wanted over a grand each person to attend each one. I was not about to blow a grand to see people that I did not give a crap about when I was in high-school and don't give a crap about now. The only time I have ever payed any attention to my high-school year books was when I was moving and boxed them up to move to the new place.

Wtf. You could pay me a grand and I probably still wouldn’t go to my high school reunions. I’d probably be getting close to my 20th reunion now, if they even have them still. I don’t get it. I’m still friends with a few people I was close with at school and have no interest in seeing people I don’t really like. Seems to me it would just be some big group tug where every talks about how much money they earn, how happy their family is and how nice their car is.

A family member was notified there wouldn't be a 10 year reunion for their class because less then 25% were still alive due to a mix of substance od, sewerslide and life ending assaults. Really messed up but...that happened.

Story 11: Not American, we don't really do yearbook photos in high school here, so I don't know how it works. Do you have to pay for your picture to be in the yearbook? Is it like with class pictures where you show up or you're not in the picture, or do they have a retake day for anyone who missed the first one or whose pictures got botched somehow?
@jayv9482 Жыл бұрын
Idk if it’s Every school nationwide, but my public school district didn’t charge for the photo going into the yearbook. You could buy a photo package (certain cropping, backgrounds, etc) separately. There are retake days (some schools gave 2 some only 1) within a few weeks that were also free. Class photos were more for the AP (advanced placement/college level) classes or clubs and would not have retakes bc they were either on a separate day or done in a candid collage-through-the-year style. Bonus: not every school has a “no picture” list as mentioned in the video. Some used a 👤 default with the name, some left the student/staff member out entirely. Though I have known my school to photoshop people into posed class/club photos if they’ve passed on during the year and are provided a viable picture from family.

I’ve never understood the concept of a reunion. I’m still in contact with the people I want to know, and I’m not in contact with the people I don’t want to know. It just strikes me as something that would be some big group masturbation about who has the best job, family and car

Probably could have chosen better verbage for " stay back " for the back brace girl. Also, what is the deal where the first few people never meet the asked criteria... Hey teachers .. " oh they must be referring to me, 'not a teacher' "

My 20 year reunion was just last August (2023). I had bought a ticket and even done shopping for some nicer clothes, But a few days before hand, I realized I just didn’t want to do it. I Had a very large graduating class, so I didn’t even know most of the people I graduated with. Also, the one guy I was sort of friends with my senior year was actually a year behind me. However, a couple of months after that, I found out a girl that I went to preschool through first grade with, passed away very suddenly. I have completely lost touch with her, having not seen or spoken to her personally in about 30 years, but I had been thinking about her for the past couple years And had tried finding her on Facebook. I only found out about her death my mom‘s friend who knew the family. I don’t know exactly how she died, but it sounds like she met a very sad ending. I think about her quite a bit, mostly, because you just don’t know what’s going on in other peoples lives, even in the lives of people you knew or thought you knew .

@@FictionHubZA From wikipedia: "The Game is a mind game in which the objective is to avoid thinking about The Game itself. Thinking about The Game constitutes a loss, which must be announced each time it occurs. It is impossible to win most versions of The Game. Depending on the variation, it is held that the whole world, or all those who are aware of the game, are playing it at all times. Tactics have been developed to increase the number of people who are aware of The Game, and thereby increase the number of losses."

Story 3: It mentions Joni was religious. I would not be surprised if her church was all about 'a woman's place is in the home.'
@asdfssdfghgdfy5940 Жыл бұрын
Is that seriously a thing in America? Because I’ve spent a fair bit of time around churches and religious families in Australia and I’ve never struck a whiff of that. In my experience churches were pretty empowering really, in quite a few families at my childhood church the mothers were the family breadwinners and the dads stayed at home or worked less hours. Not really religious btw, just been around them a lot in my life.
