Okay, that friend who pretended to have a mental illness just to get what she wanted and blaming it on the others is just disgusting. She clearly does not know how to be a friend and compromise. She's absolutely out of her mind. And as someone like myself that is dealing with mental illnesses, that person is clearly putting those who actually struggle or are struggling from mental illnesses to shame. She disgusts me. The original poster needs to drop her as a friend.

It's *worse* than disgusting. It's delusional to think that mental illness makes it okay for someone to ruin other people's lives and plans.

The widower's story... I'm a widow. The second wife that can respect the first wife, is a good woman. I remember watching a movie decades ago that the second wife used to go to the grave of the first wife, lay flowers down, and pull weeds by hand. It was a family plot on their property. The husband and children said she didn't have to do that. She responded with if she wouldn't have loved you, and passed away, I wouldn't have met you, I owe her my every happiness. This stuck with me all of these years. All of the people you met before me, lead you to me. So how can I ignore their importance in your life? So long as if they're living, they don't interfere with our life together now.

Story 1: Okay, why is the OP even remotely friends with Elizabeth? She is a terrible person and a terrible friend. No wonder this girl has a ton of ex-boyfriends, they probably realized how nuts she was and ran for the hills. A trip to France should be a great thing, but Elizabeth made this entire trip unbearable. I'm not sure what country they are all from, but i know i would've left early or left her behind. The OP shouldn't have given into her at the nightclub the first time, and her comments towards the bouncer were pretty twisted. The whole spiel with Elizabeth claiming mental illnesses was also pretty low by her as well, but considering how she was, its unsurprising. Not getting her way, so say she's unwell mentally to get both her way and sympathy. She sounds like a pill shopper to me...someone who goes to different doctors and/or therapists in order to just get medication. Also, how do you even remotely expect anyone to be tolerant or understanding of you (supposed) mental illnesses if you dont tell others what you have or how to deal with it? It's pretty clear she is using it at a cheap cop out only because she isn't getting her way and just being a drama queen. I think the OP needs to go no contact with her and block her. Story 2: No way is the OP a jerk here and the extended family really needs to shut up and back off here. It really sucks that the husband lost his 1st wife, but the OP is very understanding and supportive to both the husband and the kids. All of this really is no business of the sister and the parents, and i say that if they dont back off, then the OP and husband should limit contact with them. They sure are sick and twisted and good on the OP for calling them out. Story 3: Don't like something in someone else's house? Then don't go there! If i were the OP, i would've 100% kicked out the mother here, but kept talking to the daughter... she seemed alright, but the mother was nuts.

Ugh, yesterday I drpped a friend like this. He is going off the deep end. These people are so self involved that they are blind to their own mistakes and are quick to jump at your neck and act like they are the victim. It is a complete waste of time to give them attention because it is never enough for them. They crave the attention and the drama. It is better for your health to just walk away.

They're better than me for putting up with her until home, because I would've ditched Elizabeth the moment she blamed me for ruining her schedule that we missed the morning activities and say to her face that she's the one who didn't want to go back early last night

Story 1: hmm, I wonder why Elizabeth gets dumped. 🙄😒 Dump her and keep Mary. That's all I can say. Story 2: This is me being petty but I would suggest the reverse for op's husband's mother and sister. Convince the husband and kids, as well as tell them what their grandma and aunt wanted to do, on erasing MIL and SIL from their lives and go no contact and block them. That's the move I would take.

@@PajamaCatWithRamen I believe that you're using sarcasm and rude comments as a sort of coping mechanism for the feelings that you don't want to face (I know because I've gone through this, myself). I genuinely hope that you find a better coping mechanism (talking to a friend/loved one, using the sports you said that you play, etc.) to release this negative energy instead of hate-replying to random KZbin comments that annoy you, as this negative coping mechanism is only going to get worse to the point where it affects your behavior outside of KZbin (once again, I know from personal experience).
