I’m sorry to say all the prayers in the world won’t help, I have been praying day and night for my brother Al to be ok. This morning I woke up to a call from the Philadelphia coroner’s office informing me of my brother’s passing in Kensington, I am sick beyond words. If my telling you this Jessica can save you and others from my brother’s fate, I have to say this even thought my heart is broken right now. The thought of never hearing or seeing my brother again pains me so much, I feel I need to find a way to stop this madness. 😢

@@AMLFilms Thank you Mal, I am having such a hard time dealing with this right now, I think being here with the support of all of you might help me some. I am still trying to wrap my head around this balling my eyes out, my brother was only 53, his birthday is March 1st. He was 18 years younger than me, so this is really hitting me hard, he was more like my son instead of my brother, my sister and I have been dealing with his addiction for more than 30 years, he was lucky he made it this long. I am sorry to ramble on here, but I need to let it out. Thank you for your love and kindness Mal to all of those who need you.😘

She blames her ex husband for being mad at her when she started dating the new guy… nope, that’s not the reason why. I’m sure he realized she was on meth, so he went through the law and limited her contact with the kids. He did the right thing. These addicts ALWAYS believe their kids were “taken away” from them.

Yes, we are behind you, Jess! We are pulling for you. I hope you do more interviews with Mal. I’ll be tuning in to see how you are doing. I hope you stay safe and warm. Don’t lose hope! I know how it is to be homeless and addicted. The only shelter where I’m at with openings, you’ve got to be in from 4pm-7am…that’s 15 hours a day. That only leaves time to try to find somewhere to sleep, cause on mats on the floor with 40 people, good luck! I know it’s not as easy as people think. You’ve got a good plan with the MAT! Now you just need a program that will work with you to get where you deserve to be. We need people like you in this world. You understand and have great ideas that could change the world. Don’t ever doubt it! Like Mal said, you are making a difference already. Much love ❤️.

Thank you! ❤. I didn’t even believe yet, but I started praying because nothing else had worked. As soon as I opened my mind and asked for help regularly, I started receiving guidance in dreams and images, sometimes just a word that would pop into my head and taking heed. I’ve been off drugs for 5 years now, finished a certificate program in Addictions, and am able to pass on the gift of recovery I received. With you in prayer for all the afflicted. 🙏 ❤. One person at a time, we can help each other. We can change how society treats addiction, too! There is hope.

I very much so enjoyed this format. I enjoy the longer , letting them speak free and tell their story with some questions here and there vs an all questions asked only format. Similar to afghan trucker and some others. It allows it to be more natural , to not all feel the same , get the same answers and such . I enjoyed watching this ( of course as much as possible as it’s so disheartening to see) and wish the best for her. I hope she’s able to do what she sets her kind to and gets OUT OF THERE. In order to make the best of life and move on it may be scary but you have to take care of everything before getting to the best of it , dealing with all your past no matter how scary it may be to have to go and be in jail , it can be that much more of a blessing because if done after that program , getting on subs and then going in to do remaining time and such it should help with the being detoxed , staying sober for a little , and having time to think and figure where to go from there. I hope she’s able to go about it just right. I suggest her doing that program, putting the money to the side ( as much as can of course be cause situation) find a job and place to stay for a little down the line not right away , then going to see what she needs to do turning herself in for those past actions cause you don’t wanna start a job / get a place just to go to jail to lose it, then it makes it even harder to be down the money , job, home , and the cycle can continue/repeat. I wish nothing but the best for her as she knows what she has to do , she just needs to have that day of waking clarity to be strong enough to say today IS the day. Hope she can get into that program and go from there. This can be her chance. Those babies need her and they’re around the age she started so even more of a reason for her to get back to them and guide them down the right path compared to leading them / showing them the wrong one :/ especially since noting that ex did dope as well. Does he still ? Do the kids know ? I wonder how that played out long term for the mental / well being of the children. Regardless , I hope this woman is not to far gone and gives it her all to show that potential she has and can always have.

💯! It’s the stuff you don’t sign up for, in life, that makes people try drugs to find some relief. They never keep having those positive effects, and the negative ones make it hard to put down withdrawal, more trauma in the streets, despair, stigma, regrets, health problems, and the destruction of any security and opportunities you may have had. I thought I didn’t have an “addictive personality” until I tried the wrong drug. I’d always be able to put anything down, with no trouble. It’s hard to wrap your head around how addiction changes the brain, unless you’ve been through it. Whatever people think they would do in my shoes or Jess’s, they don’t know! Trauma changes the brain first, and makes people vulnerable. I’m so glad you understand that! I’ve been able to get on MAT, do employment training, and get back on track, but Jess is speaking truth about how hard it is to do that. I hope she finds a place to transition to MAT and stay! No one should have to live like this. 💔

@@sciencenotstigma9534 oh, I am not doubting it's difficult to get on MAT. I understand her predicament all too well. I know first hand how trauma and addiction change the brain. I fought for my life to get and stay clean. I have an addictive personality. I get hooked on a certain food (going on food jags). I learned how to crochet from yt videos and I became addicted to that and collecting yarn. So, anything can become an addiction not just substances. Now, I am addicted to YT! Especially right now, because I am struggling with health issues. Chronic constipation during opiate addiction can mess your digestive tract up long term. Our society, in general, is not empathetic to their fellow human beings pain. Thank you for your comment and share. ❤️

@@joyful_tanya Oh, no…I wasn’t questioning you at all. I thought your comment was supportive! Sorry if I was clumsy with my wording and it sounded like that. I was just seconding the things she was saying, at the same time as responding to your comment. ❤️. I thought I might have put it wrong but I can’t see what I’m writing or edit, cause my YT is messed up. My apologies! I can relate to the health issues! I have spent time on YT while waiting for my body to respond to my efforts to put it back together. I’ve also found hobbies I can do patiently, when that MAT didn’t agree with me. For a while I did adult coloring, but it was hard to put down and remember what I was doing, later. lol. Now I picked up feline rescue/fostering with shelters, and socializing & nursing sick traumatized cats to health is my therapy. Nothing too extensive like I used to, just one at a time. Still pulling all the strings of my life together. I used to run a 4-H club before my addiction and recovery, but you can’t volunteer with kids where I live with any type of record. So I started putting my art projects & addiction posters I did in local fairs. Sometimes I schlep a bunch of people’s stuff there and back…they always make you do art therapy and stuff in treatment. Have you ever entered your collection 🧶 in fairs? I’m from the inner city but had a country cousin who did it, and found out they have them everywhere. Maybe it’s just me, but it’s fun to show that you finished something and sometimes win a ribbon. Little things like that, in life, have really got me through…the things I couldn’t do before recovery. Now I can find comfort in them again. I’d show my cats too, but it’s expensive! I appreciate your comments and support for the people on this channel! These few good YT communities have been so helpful to me, in my recovery. 💝🤗❤️‍🩹

I can tell you are smarter than so many on the rat wheel of opiate addiction. I was the same as you....could never do dates for money. I have to want a person body mind and soul to even kiss em. That said....i worked my ass off at two real jobs to support my habit and keep a roof over my head as well as support my fiances habit since he was mentally and physically injured I got on subs and been clean from street drugs 4 1/2 years i never think of going back to the rat wheel. You have skills as a medical assistant phlebotomist. You can get on MAT....you can get a job and get a car and have a life. Dont wait too long. I had to find my fiance dead from fentynal before i got on subs......for the love of God.... Please try to get on an MAT program. You have something to live for. I don't even have a family....i am 54 with no kids. If i can find a reason to live with zero family to live for i know you must have a lot more to motivate you.....hoping to hear you jumped onto MAT and get the hell out of Kensington....i know you need housing first...praying you can catch a break !!!

I hear you. I did dates, but I’m the same way…that’s why a lot of us working girls don’t kiss, and just block out the rest (which often means more substances). When you’ve been abused that way in the past, disassociating from your body is a skill many wish we didn’t have because it makes it possible to hustle. I couldn’t go back to the job I was skilled in because of legal issues. I hope Jess is not dealing with that, too. She has the mind to do something new, in any case. With her compassion and knowledge of social systems theory, she would make a great recovery coach! They would consider her experience of addiction and homelessness a a positive. She knows what clients are going through and the hurdles they face, and could help them through the treatment/human services maze, once she gets through it. Not just anyone can say the things she did here, that show a deep understanding of the problem. Rooting for her 100%! No one should have to survive in the streets. That’s just trauma upon trauma, no matter what your hustle is…it’s danger and anxiety all day. That said, I’m glad she hasn’t been exploited out there, like a lot of women (and girls, boys, and men) are. I hope Jess knows that she is changing the world already, by sharing her story and ideas. She is much needed in the struggle!

I am so sorry for your loss Super Spy! I lost my only brother 6 months ago. He was my baby brother. He was 55! It is so hard! He was clean for 7 months then relapsed on alcohol because he thought it was a safer choice. He died 7 days later!! God bless you! You are in my thoughts! Saying a prayer for you! 🙏💙⬆

Her bday is the day after mine. CAPRICORN CREW 💪🏼💪🏽💪🏾 Jessica I hope you find the spark inside of you that reignites the fight within you to save yourself. As an addict myself and someone who spent well over two decades now putting every dollar bill up their arm to try to numb the pain I did not think the day would come where I would find that fight within myself- but it did- I truly believed that I was hopeless- i’m still fighting don’t get me wrong I think I will always be fighting- but, If I can find That fight within myself and I know anybody can and I’m praying that you do soon. Much love my friend. Thank you Mal 🙏🏽❤️👻

She is strong and has a good head on she just needs to do it. I have been there homeless and drug addicted. One day I just decided to get a job use a friends address. Couch surfed with my work clothes and a duffel bag. Worked my ass off got my own place met my husband had my son and never looked back. You really just have to be tired of being tired. God bless you DollFace

Long Island Jessica I’m from Long Island too and I’m 41 Jan 1 is my bday go Capricorn hell yeah I’m still here on Long Island I love it here absolutely beautiful here.. I’m also a drug addict listen get off them streets we are in our 40”s now we oG’s we not new too this we true too this . These streets are dragged out waist of time hope you can gather the strength too get your life back and get off them drugs. They going to kill you and it’s not going too take a lot to kill you it will be off of one or two little bags of the wrong stuff it will end your life. Unless your just ready to die then just stay out there and be stay broke and always in need of something then enjoy it I know for me I need my own money space from asshole people I need my space for my own well being.. good luck I truly hope the very best for you and I hope you can experience the feeling of being powerful and not powerless… it’s a great feeling to be strong and healthy.. I will pray for you good luck Jessica.❤🙏🙏💕 Jess remember one think cause I suffer with mental illness and drug addiction but it’s totally manageable if you want to manage it. Remember this we put ourselves through our own struggles by spending all our money on our drugs.. soon as you put the drugs Down every thing slowly will get better and your life will become totally manageable and your brain will start to un fog you will start too feel raw emotions and that’s a great thing cause you probably been so numb and right now you don’t know how too feel any love or anything. I was once where you are and I’m no better than you. I’m just stronger than you but I’m no better you can do it as well. They say in addiction you have too surrender but that’s far from the truth you have too turn into a beast that eats demons for breakfast lunch and dinner and even a late night snack.. you have to toughen up in order for you too come out the other side.. surrendering is what you can’t do you have too fight hard for your life harder than you ever did. Don’t ever lay down and give up give yourself a chance to make it out too see the light and I promise you and I truly. Mean I promise you your life will get so much better and your feelings will come back when I first got clean in 2019 I hit my first 1 year clean I started crying and I was like wtf is happening to me why am I crying then I new it was because I wasn’t numbing myself anymore I was learning about myself things I never new I had too learn who is the real me. Who is the man that numbed himself for such a long time I never had any feelings and that sucks not being able too feel anything.. I found out I’m a really good strong man that can over come my obstacles but without a will too fight for your life your life will never get any better. Just really trying to help you through using my iPhone to write this too you to tell you that it’s possible to overcome your mental illness and drug addiction we are a lot alike more than you know but I’m rooting for you Jessica get out of that hell hole that your in run from that place fast and hard… I will be rooting for you this whole time and hope to god you will get saved like I got saved through Jesus Christ please give Jessica the power to get her mind body and soul on the right path in Jesus name amen 🙏 ❤❤

SOME TIMES IT'S NOT THAT SIMPLE, MY EX DEALER WAS MY PAIN MANAGEMENT DR. & THX. GOD THAT I'M CLEAN FOR ALMOST 8 YRS NOW & I WAS AN NON FUNCTIONING PERSON FOR A LONG TIME & THEN I WENT TO AN INPATIENT REHAB CENTER & LEARNED AT THE TIME THAT THEY COULDN'T TAKES THE DRUGS AWAY FROM ME CAUSE I WAS UNDER A PAIN MANG. DR. & SO, UNTIL I REALIZED THAT THE DRUGS WASN'T TAKING THE PAIN AWAY, IT WAS ONLY COVERING UP THE PAINS AND SO, I T TOOK ME SEVERAL TRIES TO GETS CLEAN!! & SO, PLEASE DON'T LOOKS DOWN ON ADDICTS !! PLUS, THE DRUGS THAT THESE PEOPLE ARE ON IS A LOT DIFFERENT THAN WHEN I WAS ADDICTED!! I PERSONALLY WILL ALWAYS BE IN PAIN UNTIL THE DAY THAT I DIES BUT, THE GOOD LORD KEEPS LETTING ME WAKE UP ON THIS SIDE OF THE DIRT !! I PRAY THAT NOTHING EVERS CAUSES YOU TO NEEDS THE OPIOIDS ! MY CHOICE OF DRUGS WAS MORPHINE AND FENTANYL TOO & IT CAUSED ME TO BEING A NON FUNCTIONING PERSON , A SHELL OF A PERSON FOR A LONG TIME & NOW, I'M A FUNCTIONING PERSON & I CAN WALKS IN SHORT DISTANCES WITHOUT THE USE OF MY WHEELCHAIR TOO, WHICH IS AWESOME TOO !!

I have her exact same pink beanie with white snowflakes 💗❄️! If you need a warm, thermal insulated hat and can’t spend a lot, they still have a few at Dollar Tree. They’re as nice as ones I spent $20+ on, and warmer! I hope they make the red again next year. It was my favorite winter. My mom ganked it (I had bought her one, too, but she grabbed mine). I know it’s just a little thing, but it makes me feel connected to Jess, that we have the same hat. She’s only the 2nd person I’ve seen sporting one. A bright pink winter hat like that, I would have bought anywhere. It cheers me up to see a little brightness in Winter! 🥶 And that’s when designers roll out the gray, navy, and black…why? I hope Jess stays warm, safe, and hopeful! I had a bad run after running into a baller, too, a while back. That’s how I learned there’s no such thing as free drugs. You pay, one way or another. What it does to your brain, body, and future is the greatest expense. Jess is so aware and conscientious I know she can get back up. It’s hard to find good treatment, but it is out there and it saved me from incarceration and addiction, both. Reading the neuroscience of addiction and channels like this were invaluable, too! Especially AML Films, Chosen Won, and Tales From the Streets, respectful communities for people struggling with a serious disorder. Love and understanding are the closest we’ve got to a cure, and MAT saves lives! ❤️‍🩹
