I have watched this video many times and from it, I learned more than from any of the other videos of Amma, what she is teaching. I used to dislike the word "mother" and at first, I didn't want to hear that Amma wanted to see more mother-energy in the world. It is true, though, that many people cannot express these energies in their lives, because the energies haven't been awakened. I understand more about love after seeing Amma. Each time I watch a video of her, I feel love coming into me.

After seeing her website picture online, there seemed to be this overwhelming feeling of being hugged by completely embracing unconditional love. Though I didn't know anything of this lady, I felt an utter acceptance by her that transcended even any embrace that I might compare to my birth mother...hmmmm Needless to say,"I had to meet her." The actual hug itself was not what I had anticipated;strangely, it was the energy experience I had when waiting for my hug. This woman has unseen POWER!

krishnan, I am not a devotee of amma. but one thing I can see is, many people get the solace by seeing her, which you and me cannot give. I think it's wonderful that she has the gift of a mother's heart, and that she constantly loves on people and exudes kindness and joy. However, when people start thinking of her as a god, that's something else entirely. She is a human being, and like any other human being, she is not perfect. I don't want to rain on anyone's parade, because most here seem like genuine, kind people... but be careful in getting so caught up in your desire for a "higher consciousness" or however you put it, that you look to human beings for divinity. There IS a true living God, the creator of the universe and all life, and the author of Truth... you don't have to elevate human beings to god status. Peace!

everyone has a different culture. read the guru gita so u can understand. a guru has a place in this world just as a priest or anyone else. the way that Amma operates is the only thing that makes people praise her. when their cancer is removed or they have a baby when they thought they could not. Amma has not claimed anything..people bestow the titles on her because SHE IS DESERVING. as for the hug it is more than a hug. it is very healing. she is the healer of healers.

@klindred - having spent a lot time watching Amma, I've seen that she understands all languages. However, it would seem a little unfair to some people if she only spoke a few languages, and at the same time it would be too great a display of power if she competently spoke every language under the sun. So,I believe she chooses to only speak her own language. If she spoke all languages it would go against her message and example of humility and simplicity.

Not at all, at face value the concept that adults should Hug someone they do not know seems abnormal & embarrassing. But once you come close to Amma and experience her, you feel you have always known her . I did not feel anything in the Hug (this was in melbourne 3 yrs back) , but sitting in her presence quietened my mind. She also asked me not to worry ...which surprised me as I used to worry a lot those days. So she knew my mind :-) hope this helps.

She doesn't need a translator. She's omniscient. The only show is that of pretending to be human, not knowing English, etc. If she presented herself as effulgent, having 4 hands, etc, then some people would wanna put her in a circus, and some would label her a demon. I have been to Vallikave and have been hugged by her. I have found that place one pseudo haven where people with problems in their lives sheepishly seek an escape route and willingly get taken for a ride. It's sad that such pseudo saints are allowed to thrive in a country like India.
