Ammonia in BioFloc TAN, NH4+, NH3, BioFloc fish farming.

Know everything about ammonia in BioFloc. There are two forms of ammonia found in water, one is ammonium ion i.e, NH4+ and the other is ammonia that is NH3 our of which NH3 is very dangerous for your fish. If non ionised ammonia that is NH3 is more than 0.05 ppm then it will start damaging gills of your fishes and will cause stress also and finally fishes may die. So it's very important to know unionised ammonia level in your culture tank. Most of the commercial ammonia testing kit measure what is called TAN or total ammonia nitrogen level in water. For measuring unionised ammonia you also need to know water temperature and pH. Unionised ammonia is directionally proportional to increase in pH and temperature. Once you obtain these values then you have to multiply TAN value with multiplication factor obtained from ammonia table. This will give you unionised ammonia value.

Lime should be added only if pH is below 7. Salt should be added. Probiotics you may add may not add because remaining water still contains lot of bacteria. Molasses has to be added

Parwesh ji BioFloc mei try Kar ke dekhna hoga. Mera anuman hai ki ho sakta hai. Jitada generally seawater ya brackish water mein hoti hai magar meethe pani mein adapt Kar sakti hai. Trial Kar ke dekhiye. Itna bol sakta Hoon ki hone ka chance hai.
