Larry, you have got to wear goggles or some protective eye wear when cleaning with your power washer and steamer, especially after you have scrubbed the extremely dirty, nasty, and infested with poop surfaces. The tiny dirt and bacteria infested water droplets can get into your eyes. Safety first! Amazing work, as usual.

I bought one of these gorgeous machines for my wife in 1983. We had 3 young kids, they loved scrambling into the dark blue 124 and being dropped off at school or kindergarten. I think the upholstery was hounds tooth inlay. Absolute Italian style from design, twin overhead 1800 cc 4 cylinder internal combustion motor and that cackle in the exhaust. The doors were super heavy to open and close, it was a joy to own. Greetings from New Zealand

You definitely need to add/secure a winch on the front inside wall of that trailer. Will save a lot of headaches for future vehicles. Then you could have backed the trailer to the garage, open trailer, hooked vehicle up to winch, and winched it completely inside the enclosed trailer. Phenomenal job by the way. His look was almost like him thinking you pranked him by showing a different car.

Amazing video! My dad has one in almost the same condition that has been sitting for around the same amount of time. I got it started last year with nothing but a battery jumper; no fluid changes or anything. A brake line sprung a leak when bringing it into the light for the first time, and I have since decided to do things properly. The transformation on this 124 was inspiring, hopefully I can do something similar!

That’s exactly what I was thinking too. While he got it pretty clean looking, just about every single thing on that car would need to be replaced. I restored my 1980 Fiat 2000 and all that stuff he did like cleaning the top and whatnot really meant nothing as you know that would all be dry rotted and worthless. Not to mention all the underside rust. Unless that owner plans on completely swapping out the entire suspension, brake system, all hoses, getting the heater core swapped, and completely pulling the engine to get new timing belt and freeze plugs, not to mention replacing the rocket panels and just about every body panel, it’s just a really nice junk yard car that isn’t even really worth parting out except the dash. All clean as it sits, it’s a thousand dollar car if that with what it would need to be a daily driver.

Back in 80s I had a 74 Fiat x19 split bumper. My buddy had the 80 Fiat 2000. We would spend Saturday's ripping through the canyons in SoCal. Great video!

Love the ASMR portions of this video paired with your narration. Would like to see more of this vs. the musical overlay. I’ve really enjoyed this restoration series, thanks for the great content!

I love these cars, owned a 1982 once, have driven several, and almost bought another one, but they ALL have the same flaw. I was waiting to see it throughout the entire video, and then right around 26:50....top down shot and YEP, there it is. Broken frame on the driver's seat back on the right side, puts a bit of a twist in the seat back. I even had this fixed on mine, welded the frame, and it happened again. What happens to them is they break when the driver reaches back behind them to grab the convertible top handle to raise it back up, and it puts too much stress on the seat frame. It's such a shame, because they are really cool cars otherwise.

Nice work, as usual! It is breaking my heart, having to sell my 1978 124 Spider. My health no longer allows me to drive the car. My legs are messed up. Lots of fond memories when it was on the road though.

The only way to describe the 124, is to refer as the poor man’s Alfa. When I first drove as a kid. The almost perfect 50/50 weight distribution gave it almost ‘neutral steering’. Terrific video. Incredible car!

I had a 1970 124 Spyder when I was in school in the 1990's. I'd pull it into my parents two car garage, and dad would help me lift the rear end until the car was flat lengthwise against the wall. Then pull the other two cars in conventionally. We practically gave that car away when I graduated. After watching this, I'm now crying over it.

Seen someone comment on Ammo's FB page and say you just clean light dust off barn finds for too much money, all I could do is laugh at him. 😂 Excellent transformation Larry! Let them haters keep hating. 🏁

Hey Larry love the content. Always enjoy the restorations. Don’t know is you have thought of this but when we do a restore we will take all the mats and drop them in a laundry tub or watering troft that we got specifically for that purpose. Fill with water and sanitizer and cleaner. Followed by a bio enzyme treatment. Helps with health worries as well as malodour issues prior to shampooing. Found it really speeds up our process and helps with some of the health risk. All the best!
