I actually got lambasted by a few people on the WD page for making a mention about a lack of oil pressure on the NSX when they just started it. Self-proclaimed "engine experts" said oil doesn't get old, and there was no need for worry.

I appreciate that they went through all the maintenance stuff before starting it up. So many KZbinrs who buy old and neglected cars fire them up without even bothering to completely get the old fuel and oils out

@@henrik1743 Heh it's okay if you do it only once and then protect it like he did. I did it years ago on a Previa and my plastics are still uncracked
@Rieger812 ай бұрын
@@henrik1743 In essence you are pulling fresh pigment through, so if you do this again and again, it will go brittle, but once or twice is fine. I do it on dingy hulls. Check out stadium seat refreshing, super satisfying!
@Michael-b9c2 ай бұрын
The trim at the rear bumper is most likely regrind which is a bigger piece of plastic that didn’t meet standards and was ground up and melted again into that trim part which is showing degradation due to recycling
@stevencramsie9172Ай бұрын
Here in San Diego after Qualcomm Stadium was demolished, we had the opportunity to buy stadium seats in pairs. Mine had that same white excessive sun damage on the blue plastic, so we took my dad‘s blowtorch on a lower setting and took flame to them and completely transformed them. Since they won’t be outdoors ever again, it was the perfect solution.

I remember my dad had one and I got to drive it around for 6 months or so in my Junior year in HS (I should NOT have been driving that car at 17 with that much power)! Thankfully it was bone stock which was still PLENTY of power for the streets in 2011 haha! First time I got a BJ was in that car 😂 Kinda hard not to get attention in a bright yellow 03 Cobra convertible 😊 Always vowed I'd own one for myself one day. However, It's gotta be a coupe, and in Competition Orange, Sonic Blue, or Mystichrome! Those are my requirements

I have had a 2002 True Blue a 2003 Sonic Blue and my current one is a 2004 Red Lightning, it has graduated to to AZ life, it is my AZ truck and only has 22,000 miles on it. The story of my Ford Lightnings begins back in 2002 when I was 23 Years old, being young good looking and in shape from being in sports and living in the a resort town in Alberta, Canada I had many women flow through my fingers and the lightning was the bait on the hook. I'm old now and get to watch the young lads do the same things I did, I love the lightning I have, I'm a hard core Ford guy (family actually), I can't wait to get to AZ to my winter home so I can drive my favorite vehicle, My beloved 04 Lightning. Seeing them steps being taken brings me back to normal, I had the same problem with my 2000 F150. I thought my process or technique was off. The paint was contaminated and severely oxidized. The paint was more pale than finally hearing your STD results. Any who, I ended up wet sanding because a clay bar didn’t work, a clay mitt didn’t work, a clay Mitt disc on a DA didn’t work, 3K didn’t work, and I ended up using 1500 grit

The oxidized plastic is probably PP, like most ATV's, they tend to turn white throughout the years. Heat gun it, or even blow torch it is doing the job but not for good. The other trim next to it is probably ABS than can take much more abuse but costs more. Love your videos, Larry.
