Awesome awesome awesome! Years ago I asked My Jimenez if He could try his techniques on Gunpla. He told me that He was warking on it! And it was true! And we see the results in these series of videos! He scaled his tank techniques to 1:100 scale robot! Awesome.

I often use this products and I am well statiesfied. For blending i use often an applikator from make up produkts. With the applikator I am dabbing the colour and can it better control it as with the brush.

Fantastic video Miguel and I really enjoy the effects you have made on this Zaku kit. The extra dirt and tones around the feet/boots is awesome!! I have some of these products from you now - thank you very much!! - and I will also try something similar on a new Gundam and Gunpla kit. Thank you again and all the best my friend!! Lincoln Wright

Great artist and person here. However. I'd like to recommend some Brazilian down tempo, or even Paolo Fedreghini.

Has anyone experienced their model plastic crack after applying the Mig products? Even after I top-coated with a lacquer top coat, it still cracked in some spots after doing the streaking/blending with odorless spirit.
@tetsujin_1448 жыл бұрын
I haven't worked with Mig products but I know a bit about Gundam parts cracking... Snap-fit kits in general have this kind of problem because the parts are under stress. (The snap-fit socket is stressed to hold a grip on the peg, etc.) Enamel thinner and similar chemicals weaken the stressed plastic, causing tiny fissures to form. The thinner can then flow into these fissures, weakening the plastic further, until it simply crumbles apart. Gundam kits and similar are especially problematic because of the many stress-joints in use: not only assembly joints but moving parts - polycaps, ABS joints, etc. are all points of stress. (Additionally, I have heard that the old ABS inner frames were prone to cracking when painted with solvent-based paints like Mr. Color - one of the reasons why Bandai have switched to a soft styrene for most inner frames) I don't know how Mig products are formulated but mostly these kinds of techniques rely on enamels and oil paints - and all of the thinners involved exhibit this kind of problem. To deal with it, you need to not only top-coat, but make sure that top-coat is really thorough - and when applying the effects, be careful about how much thinner you allow to sit on the model. Beyond that bit of advice, my experience with this kind of effect is a bit limited. People also use lighter fluid for these kinds of effects as an alternative to enamel thinner or mineral spirits. That might be more plastic-friendly (though I'm not sure of that.)

Do you need a satin or gloss varnish for a filter?
@hombremedias9289 жыл бұрын
+Stephen Bobby I have the same question, after finish paint and decals, is necessary to apply a varnish coat (gloss or flat?) to apply this filters and the chipping effects from other video.
@stephenbobby67159 жыл бұрын
I have been applying filters with no varnish and when using washes i use a gloss varnish.

the filter does not work. It doesn t change anything, the pigment inside is too coarse i suppose it doesn t mix with the thinner even if i shake it vigorously. Terrible product
