Amnesia The Dark Descent is a popular horror game from 2010. It's a lot of people's favorite horror game because it does "horror" really good. It's also been the inspiration for plenty of other horror games. It's definitely an experience for everyone.

The reason Daniel loses sanity in the dark is because he has nyctophobia. I forget if it mentions it in the game at some point, I only learned of it myself after looking it up back when I played through a couple years ago

It's not explicitly stated, but heavily implied. Especially after a loading screen that says that he was locked in the basement as a child by his father as punishment for accidentally breaking a jar of dyes. Prior to that experience it's interestingly stated that he "wasn't particularly afraid of the dark". Also doesn't help with his experience in Algeria later in life, being sealed within a tomb.

The atmosphere in Amnesia: TDD hasn't been matched by any horror game I've played since. The fountain part unironically gave me chills. At first you think it's a safe space but then it's ripped right out from under you. The whole game was amazing, it really felt like you were running for your life when you had to hide. I still remember hiding in that kitchen on top of some shelves, I had no idea if the bro could reach me up there but there was nothing else you can do but wait.

Man, i played this game again recently and does it hold up. My hands were literally shaking from the stress, i'm usually not easily scared nowadays but this game was truly terrifying, it builds it's tension so well, that jumpscare i knew it's going to happen, got me. I don't think any game will top this anytime soon, some VR game might but we will see.

You should play Amnesia: The Bunker next, it takes the intensity of Amnesia and cranks it up to eleven. While it is way shorter, it has way more re-play value because of the RNG and the freedom you have with finding a solution to each roadblock.

i played little bit and despite not meeting the enemy yet, i can say it's truly terrifying. Knowing that you have to keep the lights on, while traversing in place where you can easily get lost, just to keep the enemy away it's so well made.

I really like the games from Frictional Games. They also made Penumbra and if you liked Amnesia you should play it too, starting with Overture. A lot of features from it were used in Amnesia but It's also a unique game and really enjoying. I would also like to watch you play SCP Containment Breach. This game is old but I still like to play it once in a while

This game is amazing, It was one of the first games I got on steam, and I remember asking myself why I bought it... the game scared the hell out of me just by the menu theme. And somehow, I had found in myself the desire to get all of the achievements lol. Maybe bc its a great experience and truly one of the best horror games out there. You should do Cry of Fear next!

With all these horror games youre making videos on, i want to see you make one on Omori, personally its one of my favorite games of all time and my favorite story ever in a video game, and with your laid-back chill commentary it would be an awesome video. Keep in mind tho the game is 20+ hours long with only specific parts being psychological horror (after bosses and the entire endgame), but personally i think its worth it.
