I saw him a couple times in Saigon. He played in the street crowds near people eating and drinking and he had an assistant to guide him around. Sometimes he played with another musician. Always seemed happy despite a life filled with tradegy. Like many Vietnamese people from his era who carried on through unimaginable hardships to make a good life. Wikipedia said he died of severe anemia. That is usually treatable unless he had an underling bone cancer of some type. No national healthcare in Vietnam yet which is shameful because decent medical care is cheap there. RIP Mr. Thanh Dien and thanks for making the world a better place. Diem Huong is very talented. Glad she made a few videos with Mr. Thanh Dien.

I play lead guitar in a 2 girl fronted rock/pop band in upstate NY and usually can follow any guitarist. But you as a guitarist have A very unique style and sound that I don’t think anyone can follow. Very awesome guitar playing with the added awesome vocals. Does your feet tap and fingers tap against something and you feel like you can just improvise and add your own rythim to what's already being played!!?? Huh? Huh!? Well there it is, ol'chump!! Improvising whilst staying within the already boundaries set!! Sometimes the lead singer can't keep up properly, because "obviously" all over the script, improvising. Yes you can, in a few years! A thousand!? You already failed yourself, because we know damn-well, we live perhaps 78 years top, in our lives. He's alright, but because of his sight-lessness, he haved to learn, quite abruptly that theirs another player on the team. He's alright, sometimes losing the original pureness of an already tune cast in iron!!!!!!
