I saw it Paul one evening in New York and he was kind enough to speak with me. Agreed can’t figure out why the US never truly appreciated his art. Seems that New York, Boston, Los Angeles and San Francisco are pockets of appreciation and that’s about it.

I don't remember whose interview it was, but he said he was invited to Paul Weller's place and Paul asked him if he would like some beer, the guy said "yes" and Paul said he was off to the nearby store to buy beers and whatever. Then he disappeared in his room and a couple of minutes later he turned up again in full gear,nice polo, perfect trousers, stylish loafers,"I'll be back in a minute", lol !

Paul Weller seems to know every bit of good groove. If my memory is correct, more than 20 years ago, he praised Natacha Atlas and that was the first time I ever listened to Arabic beat. Must be a lot of fun if I could dance to his selection of records...

Not that there are that many record stores even open nowadays, but if I lived near Amoeba somebody would have to enforce a restraining order to stop myself from living there and going bankrupt. My big sister, who,as a 14 year old possibly but then I think a lot of girls did. Anyway. my old dear came home with totties etc, and told my sister my wee brother and I that she had managed "to get the Ted Rix" record. . To this day I don't really know if she was joking or not but let's get one thing clear. Marc Bolan was very infuiential in British music.
