Damien! This was my favorite episode of What’s in my Bag to date. What an amazing selection. I added everything you picked to my Playlist and can’t wait to listen in my car, volume up, feel some things and get goosebumps..maybe even cry a little. How have I never heard that Ritchie Valens song?! Why did I forget about the magic of Fugaze? I choose the songs I listen to by the emotions they evoke in me, and it makes sense that you would, too. I’ve always felt a deep connection to your music. It has had such a profound impact on me and helped me through some very dark times in 2005/2006..and still to this day. There’s definitely hallmarks of The Doors in The Stranglers. The Stranglers were not a psych band but had psych elements - particularly in the keyboards. Dave Greenfield was very open about how he was influenced by Ray Manzarek’s playing.
