I need to say a very HUGE thank you to this channel for getting me through 1st year of my nursing degree. I went back to school to get a bachelor's degree in nursing at age 35, and honestly, the first year, I almost gave up. I got theough biology and genetics and even biochemistry thanks to you guys. I will be graduating in November with a distinction, so from the depth of my left ventricle, thank you so much

Is it possible to become a bio mechanic engineer who studies genetics and cells? Sorry if this is a weird question as I am only a freshman in high school.

So what do you think the dangers of injecting plasmids mRNA along with sick animals proteins & numerous chemicals into humans would be?? Zoonotic disease & autoimmune disorders? Cancers exploding from simian immuno virus SV40 from primates and prions from the infected proteins from my veterinary studies?

I just wanted to give the Amoeba Sisters’ channel a GIANT thank you for helping me to learn this stuff. I am currently a 9th grade freshman in high school, and I am taking Honors Biology. These videos on DNA, RNA, cells, the cell cycle, and biochemistry are really helping me with my school work and studies. I currently want to earn degrees in mechanical, civil, and bio mechanical engineering, and I am currently wanting to go to Duquesne University for college. Because of these videos, I am now head of my class. We are not even learning about DNA and RNA processes and the Cell Cycle yet, and I already know a lot on these topics. Because of these videos, I am growing to be increasingly interested in how cells and genetics work. Thank you a lot, and I look forward to watching some more advanced videos on biology. Thank you Amoeba Sisters!

As someone who's looking into learning more about genetic engineering for the sake of wildlife conservation, this is a great video to start with. I understand the ethical part of it; though hearing about the Takhi Horse foals that were cloned is pretty fascinating and something that can be done with other critically endangered species as well.

You deserve nothing but the best, your videos have really helped me out throughout secondary school! However, I must say that sometimes I feel like the voice explanations and just a bit too fast and I often have to replay parts of the video to wrap my head around certain concepts. Other than that I really love the fun animations! 💞

I really like that last panel after the 'Stay Curious'. It might've been just a little joke, but it's actually an interesting genetic engineering phenomenon. Just the other day, in my bioengineering grad course, we learned about metabolic loads in GMO development. That is, if you load a bug (microbe) up with lots and lots of foreign plasmids and DNA, the bug has to expend lots of energy and resources into replicating those DNA regions, producing those proteins, and all the other things we want the bug to do that's not necessary for its survival. Basically, it can overburden the cell, like the cell in the panel carrying a huge backpack full of plasmid bottles. This forces the cell to "drop" DNA plasmids on its own, grow much much slower than the natural cell, or die as other cells out-compete it for food and resources. So geneticists have to be careful or clever in how they incorporate their genes into a cell. Very cool stuff, thank you for making this video!

Genitive engineering is definitely one of those sciences that I think needs to have an eye kept on it. Use it for insulin or some medical conditions, not on people. This is coming from someone with a genetic disease. I would rather be the way I am now, then chosen to be what I could of been by others. Because even though the epilepsy is horrible I’d rather treat it than have lived my whole life without it. If I never had it I would probably be a pretty different person. I cant drive and my memory is shit, but that’s shaped many things about me. I’m just me.

Hello wonders to the amazing amoeba creators!!! Best teaching video ever. U know when you talk about biology, studying living organisms? It's like studying mathematics, so difficult! Argh! Learning with numbers! And so to the biology the difficult part is, the terminology and definition and stuff!!!! But hey miracle is truly just in the air! And then I bump to this amazing channel. Makes everything easy. NO CAPS!! I used to get annoyed with this kind of subject but this channel makes it lot more easier and relatable. I have loads of words to say but lemme sum of everything. YOU WONT REGRET WATCHING THEIR VIDEOS. Luv lotssssss❤
