Because it was in the middle ground of blessed regular memes (pre 2015), and cursed memes (post 2017) And I really don't think it worked out. It was like trying to be funny, but not actually being that "that" funny. On the other hand, the memes in the last 3-4 years are better than what we had then because we fully reached a cursed or (low-key dark humor) status.
