Sorry to be a downer but... Shield walls were actually rarely used by Vikings as they are extremely flawed strategies. Unless you had a massive army protecting from all sides (a rare sight in Viking raids), shield walls were easily overcome by flaking from behind, especially when Cavalry was available. Awesome song though, I love it.
