This has always been my favorite song of theirs, but many people forget that it was Martin Lopez (ex Opeth) who played on Amon Amarth's first album and was one of the driving forces behind their writing. Amazing props to Fredrik for doing this song justice by learning every little nuance and fill. Swedish Viking Metal will live on forever, much like the story of 5 brave men... endlessly!

For Everyone, he uses Pearl Masters Premium Birch drum kit with meinl cymbals (most of them soundcaster). He uses the Yamaha FP7210A Single Pedal (i dont know if its only for recording or live too...). They are coming to holland on 20 may 2011 and i already have my tickets!! Fredrik is god! \m/

He's using his pedals on the kick drums in the very beginning. You can tell since the pitch is much lower than his snare drum. If you're listening through low quality computer speakers you might not be able to tell the difference.

Also, as a musical genre, like death and black metal, there are no viking metal. As a lyrical theme genre though, you usually referr to music with viking or asa-themed lyrics as viking metal, like when you say antichrist metal, christ metal or pagan metal for example.
