The Mount Goliath Natural Area is home to an interesting bristlecone pine forest interspersed with Engelmann spruce, with trees as old as 1,600 years.
I'd driven past it many times on my way to the summit of Mount Evans (now renamed Mount Blue Sky). I finally decided to stop there instead and spend a few hours there under the stars. It was an amazing experience.
