Some places (like walgreens) will make cashiers ask for ID by way of a promt on screen that interrupts the transaction when scanning certain items, and sometimes undercover shoppers are sent to make sure theyre carding people, so they're just doing their jobs in a way that wont get them fired. That wasnt an angry rant, just hopefully an informative paragraph on cashiers going through it out here. Anyway, i love mongey Mondays.

where i worked we had an old register, so instead of forcing us to scan the ID it'd make us input a birthdate -- i was taught to just put in 11/22/33 if they looked over 35. even if i did ID someone i'd just put in 11/22/33 because it's faster (NY makes underage IDs very easy to identify) i've still had people Shocked that i ID'd them (it was one of my pet peeves when they reacted that way) and once this woman scolded me for not IDing her... she said, and i quote, "i do not look over 35." she does, chat. she most definitely does. ...that being said, i was never ever trained to ID people for products that needed to be 18+, aside from lottery.

6:29 Former retail worker here. If an item is age-18 or age-21 restricted, stores like Walmart will still cart you up to age 40. Walmart had the strictest rules about this when I worked there. Meijer has the same rules but are more willing to let cashiers use their best judgement on the matter. Also, Walmart has gone back and forth over the years with a policy of "we cart everyone of any age". I got cussed out a few times because I was required to cart people in their 50s for beer.

Love your Among Us vids Alpharad. They are so entertaining and funny and just so fun to watch. On your anime take: while I think MHA is fine and One Piece is good, I find Bleach to be the best Shonen anime (my opinion, so dont flay me lol). I like its world building (which it has, contrary to what the haters say). Each zanpakuto (the weapon of the Shinigami) are unique and some are just insane and incredible and some even have ties to Shinto Buddhism. The series as a whole also ties together shinto buddhist ideas (such as the cycle of reincarnation) with Japanese history (such as the fact that the Shinigami are a reference to the samurai and the Soul Society is a reference to fuedual era Japan and the caste system and it also has references to the edo period). Lastly, contrary to the haters beliefs of the series, Bleach has some well written characters (and then you have others that are not so much). At the moment, I am actually writing my own Canon for the series with a story that has original characters and plot. The original plan for this Fanfiction was to write a light novel and then make an anime based on it (only issue is I have no animation skills). Anyways thanks for making so many fun and interesting videos and here's my game you need to try take: Crash Team Racing Nitro Fueled. I think it stands par with Mario Kart, despite development stopping after only a year (f*** Activision). Keep it up Alpharad and I will always be a fan of your incredible content.

At 1:33:40 I would 100% believe Smith is cheating. Their "random guesses" end up correct a lot over the course of the Mongy Mondays. Like, I know they guess a lot in general, but just over all the videos I feel like they've gotten quite a lot right that there's absolutely zero indication for, and with as many roles as there are, it seems suspicious. Not hard accusing them, because I know statistical anomalies happen, but it definitely comes off as suspicious.

@@katiescarisbrick4117 Unfortunately you'd be surprised at how often people will cheat when playing with friends. And in fairness, in the past, even Jacob has cheated at times for the sake of "it'd be funny", though he hasn't done that much in a long while. That said, if Smith is cheating, and again I'm not saying it's definite because anomalies do happen, it does come off more as they're doing it just to win. Most of the time Jacob or the others have cheated for the sake of being funny, they've admitted it right after the round is over.

@@Gamer3427 this is the main outcome i believe happened: Smith tried to kill Altrive but couldnt because he was shielded. This means Smith knows theres either medic, guardian, or survivor on the table. Jacob and Altrive were hanging out a lot together that round, sometimes Jacob would even hint to them having a special connection to eachother (“Guys, i think pikmin 5 is clear”). When it came to guessing, Smith had double shot and guessed detective because its the 1st role. Then, they guessed investigator because it was the 2nd role. These 2 roles are guessed often at random because theyre the first 2 roles in the guessing list, and they dont have easy tells most of the time (however its possible Smith saw something Altrive did that made him seem like investigator). Because Altrive and Jacob were hanging out and Altrive was shielded WITHOUT being survivor, Smith chose to guess medic. Its ‘confirmed’ in a later round that Smith tried to kill pikmin 5 but their cooldown ‘kept resetting to 1 second’. This is why Jacob’s screen flashed green over and over. If you still think it’s insane that he guessed specifically MEDIC, theres another tell for this. Survivor (and presumably guardian angel) used to leave a killers cooldown at 1 second if they tried to kill a shielded person. This was later patched to fully reset the killers’ cooldowns. Medic is a new role that theyre using, and thus hasnt gone through the same patch as survivor, which means its the ONLY shielding role active that resets cooldowns to 1 second. This is a REALLY amazing play from Smith, shockingly so. This play requires so much logic and thinking about how people were acting throughout the rounds, and tests your logic on how well you know roles. Someone like Jacob i dont think could ever make this play in among us, as his mindset is totally different from Smith’s. The strangest part about all this is Smith’s reaction however. He just shrugs it off and says it was purely a guess. TWO guesses. I dont know Altrive’s perspective, so it is possible Altrive really was just a lucky guess. However, the reason they chose to guess specifically Altrive was because HE was protected by someone, and Smith couldn’t guess survivor, so if they knocked out Altrive they could knock out their protector. This was Smith’s only way out, and it payed off. My guess is they couldn’t really justify their logic, because it WAS such an insane play that just ended up working for them. Initially i thought maybe Smith DID cheat, and the reason their reaction was so strange was because they didn’t want to admit to cheating because they realized how messed up cheating in that context actually was, because it wasnt done for laughs. Smith has done similar things to this in the past, like calling a meeting as mayor just to vote out Aaron as a joke when they know Aaron is innocent, then realizing it was messed up after it actually works. TL;DR Altrive is protected from Smith, Smith double shot guesses Altrive to get rid of him then knows his protector was Jacob because the way they were acting. They knew it was medic due to the way the role is currently wired. Their reaction was strange, probably because they couldn’t figure out how to put their crazy logic into words. Its possible its cheated, but i personally think its unlikely. Sidenote, i was trying to type fast so mightve used the wrong pronouns on people at some points idk

It was "I just had never seen medic as an option before so I wanted to guess it" No way to prove either way whether that is true or whether they stream sniped but it wasn't some big brained logic they couldn't explain.
