How wicked are we as people that we would seek evil. Not just stumble into it but go looking for it. And then love the evil. No wonder we have to have a Savior. Jesus had to shed blood to redeem us. Most of the time, people still do not care. I am going to pray that Americans will wake up and see the truth. Thank you Preacher.

Awesome study Dr. Bagwell! Love these two verses! This sermon is an example of ring composition. The Israelites have been seeking evil, ungodliness and longing for the filthy things of this world. No matter how much they sinned and rebelled against God, Israel always said, "The Lord is with us". "Good"/טוב/ṭôb/what is best and prosperous in God's eyes. "Seek" means to search for and want to find it badly. To not be able to live without it. "Seeking Good" is nothing more than obeying the commandments of God. "Evil"/ רע/ra‛/evil in the worst sense of the word. Evil that is destructive and malignant. "God"/אלהים/'ĕlôhı̂ym/the God of might, power and strength. "Hosts" means that God is the God of the armies. God is a man of war. Amen! "Shall be"/היה/hâyâh. Israel has the attitude that God would never judge them. America has the same mindset today. "Hate"/שׂנא/śânê'/to treat as an enemy. Jesus said you cannot serve two masters, you will hate the one and love the other. Amen! God tells them to put some legs on their godliness. Don't just talk the talk, walk the walk. The judges need to start giving out right sentences. They have been calling wrong right and right wrong. Great point! If they turn it may be that the Lord will be gracious unto them. True Bible believing Christianity is nothing but a remnant in America. Wow! Such a true statement! 245 times in the Old Testament God is called "The Lord of hosts". It always means He is the God of armies. It is always when He is about to bring judgment on Israel. The first time was with Eli and his two wicked sons. These verses are the mathematical center of the book of Amos. We in America had better start hating the evil and loving the good. Amen! 4 times the word "hate" surfaces in the book of Amos. Thank you for doing these studies! I truly enjoy going thru them! Have a great day in the Lord!
