Just found your channel and subscribed, I was looking for Amos Moses by Jerry Reid bass lessons and your video showed up and even though it's not a bass lesson something was telling me to watch your video and I'm glad that I did , I have to say that I have never seen anyone give as thorough step by step instructions and go slowly and clearly so a dummy like me can understand , you Sir are an excellent music teacher, I wish you had a bass lesson for Amos Moses but I still think the guitar lesson is excellent and enjoyed it very much .

This is much better in Drop D as you don't have to move your hand as much and also you can play the low D before the line "They called him Amos Moses" In fact you can play the entire descending baseline @@EricBlackmonGuitar You also get more bending

SONNNNNN! Good work. It useful to catch some Luther Perkins work for this style as well. Luther could mute like no other. Can you give a demo of the Alabama Wild Man? I 'spect that you could. SON! Jerry could match Hank Garland on be-bop or play Bach like Segovia. The man was a force of nature. This is soo damn'd FUN. What great lyrics. -E.g., The Tupelo Mississippi Flash or Another Puff. Mrs. Hubbard's son could write. I 'm really a Jazz player, but I LOVE this stuff. I have always kept an old Tele, and ended up playing a lot of dates on the thing. Because of Mike Bloomfield, I put a mini humbucker in the neck position, and discovered that I could play almost any date in Manhattan with ONE guitar. In Manhattan, it's the ONLY way to get a cab. If hack drivers see you with 3 guitars and 2 amps, you aint gonna' make the date. -One Tele and a Deluxe. I was never late again. If only I could find a light weight Tele with a Jazz scale neck... What is it with modern Teles? They are all 7 - 9 lbs! Heck, Les Paul's are 8 lbs and lighter! My old Esquire weighs exactly 5 lbs. It's alder cut from the outside of the tree. It took me 45 years to find that out from a luthier. I also have a swamp ash Tele and it weighs 6 lbs. That's because the wood was taken from below the water line. Such wood is much lighter. I can not figure why, today, Fender is making them so damn'd heavy. The light ones sound best.

Pretty certain all but the B7 are open chords. Jerry uses the 3rd string exclusively for the chicken pickin in a video performance. The pull-off from 5th to 2nd fret gives a better accent.
