Amoxicillin
Generic Name: amoxicillin
Trade Name: Moxatag
Indication: skin infections, respiratory infections, sinusitis, endocarditis prophylaxis, lyme disease
Action: Inhibits synthesis of bacterial cell wall leading to cell death.
Therapeutic Class: anti-infectives, antiulcer agent
Pharmacologic Class: aminopenicillins
Nursing Considerations
 contraindicated with penicillin allergy
 may cause seizures
 assess for rash, anaphylaxis
 excreted by kidneys - monitor renal labs
 monitor patient for diarrhea - bloody stool should be reported immediately

I had an allergic reaction to amoxicillin which I'd been taking for a sinus infection back in January of 2020 (before the crap hit the fan regarding the coronavirus) for a couple days. I had taken it one morning, and my hands started to itch. Then there was a rash on the back of my hands...which then spread all over my body. When I notified my mom through a phone call, she came over to my apartment, saw the rashes, and rushed me to the emergency room. It turned out I had an allergic reaction to the amoxicillin, and I heard in this video that sometimes when allergic reactions to antibiotics like penicillin or amoxicillin can cause anaphylaxis, that didn't happen to me, thank heavens. And I wasn't in the ER for a pretty long time.

my wife is a nursing mom and doctor has prescribed her Amoxicilin Potassium clavulanate and Aceclofenac, Paracetamol, Serratiopeptidase. are these drugs safe for baby?????
