RIP Amp Fiddler. A true hero of a modern detroit sound. Dreamin' on this rendition is especially gut wrenching today.

You see right. Amp has always a big fan of sly stone. The song "you play me" on his first album waltz if ghetto fly even contains the intro wash wah sound of the Song "Smiling" from the "RIOT" album. I am a sly stone fan and Amp fans as well. My nickname slyfonk contains Sly from from sly stone

Amazing to see no one is doodling, dancing, singing....in front of so many talented musicians and some of the best soul music available... After 2 minutes everyone should be dancing....Thank you so much Mr Fiddler, Mr Randolph and you talented partners....!!! Let's hope you will be back top Paris (if not, we will come to Detroit....)...happy holidays

DEEPEST funk attained, at 41:00t - Amp sets up his pal for piano feature that evokes both Ahmad Jamal & Herbie Hancock - George Duke I suppose

Thank you for reposting this. That cut on Jules Holland was great too, but this is crushingly good. It never satisfied me once I'd seen this. If you're telling someone about how talented this guy really is, show them the vid with Corrine Baily Rae, If I Don't, and this.

I have been checking out several videos now because shamefully being a great soulfan I have not been familiar with his work. However I can't help it: He' s flat almost all the time. Can't help it: it hurts my ears. Love his music though: great tunes.

Glad to read this. I am a huge fan of Amp Fiddler, since more than 12 years or so. Yet whenever I see live shows, I'm not really convinced. Someone here in the commentsection says it's a zombiecrowd, but.. He's just not very entertaining, which he could be, with the amazing music he makes!
