I like the multi-functions. Buy it now for a headphone amp, use it later as a pre-amp. Appreciate the fun review and cool shots of the product. Sometimes you don't need the best and good enough works perfectly.

Nice review. I am tempted. I have one question: Why do units in this price/feature range so seldom include a balance control? Is the circuitry expensive? Are all listeners able to put their primary listening place exactly in the middle between their speakers? I don’t get it.

@@UnitedStatesofAnalog Love your Japanese themed bar and listening area. I was in Japan for a month in the beginning of 2020, right before the whole COVID thing blew up!. Found an 80's themed listening bar/hangout in the Shibuya district in Tokyo and it was so awesome to experience that. They were even taking requests of what to play, and of course, being a child of the 80's (currently 54), I had a whole bunch of stuff to request. Playing "Mr. Roboto" by Styx just seemed so appropriate. Must've spent the better part of two hours in that place before I had to leave to go onto other things. Yeah, if you get a chance, definitely visit Japan. I so want to go back and plan to within a couple of years.

I just ordered one of these things and it is due to arrive on Saturday the 20th. I've seen and read plenty of reviews (not just this one) that says this thing is actually quite good, especially for the price (despite what a couple of naysayers say in the comments). I plan on using just as a phono pre-amp. I currently have a Technics SL-QL15 linear tracking turntable hooked up directly into the built-in phono pre-amp in my Marantz AV8802a pre/pro. Will be interesting to find out how this thing sounds compared to the built-on phono pre-amp in my Marantz. Also found my Pro-Ject PhonoBox II pre-amp in the basement. Will have to hook that up and compare the three.

I will say it looks great, i did purchase this to use as a preamp, however i found the output to be less desirable, my Fosi box x2 produces a much better output , so i returned the ampapa, its definitely a cool looking unit.

Great video thank you, I like this Ampapa A1, I want to use it between my Cambridge Audio AXC35 and my Cambridge Audio AXD100D receiver, plus between my Pro-Ject Debut turntable and the receiver, the receiver has a built-in phono stage, so can you tell me if I still connect the A1output to the phono stage input on my receiver, or do I connect it to a vacant input other than the phone stage input ? Would appreciate your expertise on this query, thank you.
