Ampeg SVT-7PRO Demo 1/2

I just bought this head a week ago and gigged with it yesterday. It's the first time i the sound and tone in my head came out of my amp. This thing is phenomenal, if anyone out there is considering this amp go play it and you won't leave without it. Thanks Ampeg!!

Hook this amp to a 410HLF or a 610HLF and you will be in bass heaven, This amp is loud and sounds very good. I've played it through a 410HLF and I was quite amazed,particularly impressed for the Funk and RnB I was playing. Thumping, popping and finger style will really sing through this amp. This is not tube,but you won't miss that Ampeg sound, and its really light. I also like the idea that its rack mountable . Even though it doesn't have the ten band EQ, it still sounds remarkably good. To mean its a cross between the GK RB series and the Ampeg SVT series which is two of the most sought after sounds for bass amps.

yes the input gain peak LED, i think i had master at about 4-5 and gain about the same, and the red light started flashing, i really like Ampeg because i love the sound i get and i currently am using an ampeg portaflex PF 500 head, through a Gallien Krueger 400 watt 8 ohm cab, so i'm only pushing 300 watts currently through a sterling ray34ca and without hitting the -15db it peaks at about 6-8 both master and gain, and I would like a 1000 watt head to cut even more and be heard better!

I was trying this out at my local guitar center, and I was playing a Jackson JS3 bass through a ampeg SVT610HLF and i barley turn it to about 4-5 and it starts peaking...whats up with that? if its suppose to be a 1000 watts and it wasn't even that loud at that volume...i'm a bit skeptical of this head

Hi, I Would like to know if the svt7 pro works well with 2 cabinets Ampeg 410 HE, and also with just one cabinet 410 HE ? Im trying to find out if I buy the svt3 or the svt7, what will you recommend?

Hi guys i want to buy this head, and i have an ampeg 210he cabinet; do you think the cabinet would handle 600 watt at 8 ohms, or do i need a 410 he cabinet ?

I have a question! I've been interested in this getting this head, but I'm wondering if it would be able to power 2 Ampeg 8x10 cabs? Is it possible to run 2 cabs with this head?

I bought a refurbished SVT 7PRO from Musicians Friend but they don't sell it with the rack ears. Where can I get the rack ears that'll fit the SVT 7PRO? Can you recommend a model as I don't think Ampeg sells a set ?

I am seriously considering buying this amp, but i am not sure which cab would be best to get with it, as i play in a hard rock band with a mm5 stingray. I currently use a hartke350watt ha3500 410vx combo which sound ok but cant handle the low b at high volume, which i need for my band. I like the punch from the 410 but am concerned about the low end. Would the pn115hlf still give me that punch or would the extra wattage of the 410hlf be ok.

If I have both outputs from the svt7pro to the speakon jacks on the back of an ampeg svt810e, do I gain or lose anything with this configuration or should it just only be one of the outputs to one of those speakon jacks for all speakers to function properly?

I have a question, I am looking to buy this head and hook it up with a markbass 1x15 (400 watts) and a markbass 4x10 (800watts). Each amp is 8ohms so it would be a total of 4 which this amp head can handle. If i were to give each amp 500watts from the head, could it blow out the 1x15 since its only 400 watts or could I give the 4x10 600watts and the 1x15 400? Please Help!

has anyone tried using this with a separate pre-amp do you go into power amp in? I run my pre amp to the effects return on my swr head I'm using right now. , basically just looking for a lighter power amp, and for the money this amp seems like a good deal.

Question- Could I run my SVT 7 Pro through an Ashdown ABM 6x10? The cab is rated 800 watts @ 4 ohms. Would my head over power it?

Quick question, is there a way to remove the 2 handles on the front of the SVT 4? my rack won't close because of these handles

Quick question about the fan, does anyone know if the airflow is inwards or outwards?

@96kjartan 1000 into 4 Ohms. DO NOT turn the 7PRO all the way up, or you will be paying for speakers. The 610HLF handles 600 Watts, your ears will know when you start to stress the speakers ... Back off once they fart out or sound distorted sometimes they produce a burning smell. Use common sense and you should be fine. Enjoy! Cheers.

***** I don't understand how the 7PRO would work well with a 410HLF? The 410HLF has a power rating of 500w and the Impedance is 4ohms and the 7PRO gives out 1000w at 4ohms wouldn't this blow the speakers?
