Ah, yes the episode that drives home how dark this series can get... well, one of them. Those are a real kind of frog, too. South American "Pac-Man" frogs. They'll eat anything they can swallow, including other frogs.

And many things they _can't_ swallow. Pac-man frogs choking to death is a recognized phenomenon.

Horned toads do exist, and yes, they are cannibals. Another realistic fact that makes this series so fun! I also adore the fact that Polly could shine. She's such a great character 😊 Ah, Wally and Anne, the bonding we never knew we wanted. These were probably my most favorite pair of episodes this first season. I couldn't help laughing but also feel angry at the fact that Wally still fell. You mean to tell me that fall was survivable and you missed the photo anyway? 😂

1:36 "NO." Just immediate from Alycia, XD!!! Time for one of my favourite episodes! I love "Wally and Anne"so much. "No, come back! You're so cool!"(coughs up glowing butterfly). LMAO! Why is that so funny to me?!! Wally:"Wouldn't want to be that guy!!!"(scooches away) "Actually, I believe you..." "FINALLY! Thank you!Jeez" "...dreamt it. I believe you dreamt it." "rrrrRRRRAAA!!!" XD! Wally playing for hours the same music on the accordion, calling break time over then yelling "Or is it?!!!"and Anne beginning to sob makes me laugh so hard. "Wally, you saved...my PHONE! Oh, and my life..." Lol, my priorities as well. The complicated handshake is adorable. "Shake hands with the baby!" Lol, Wally's hair is magnificent. "I'm One-Shoed Anne!" "SHE'S DERANGED!"

9:18 Your commentary at the end is always the best. You pick up on all the subtleties of Anne's growth and how it relates to her ever changing concept of friendship with each episode. It's been such a blast re-experiencing this show on this channel and I can't wait for the season finale!

In real life Horned Bull frogs really do eat other frogs; a lot of the concepts in this show are closer to reality than you would expect.

This is one of the several reasons why I enjoyed this series a bit more than The Owl House. I love when shows add that touch of reality that motivates you to research. I bet almost nobody knew what an olm was until this show demonstrated them.

I love how much trouble Anne has with the idea of an Amphibia cryptid. Like, to her, everything is weird, so the idea that everyone else thinks the Moss Man is ridiculous doesn't make any sense.

At the beginning I agreed with past Alycia that I'd stay at the inn, but by the end of the episode once I fully remembered how spooky and dark the plot got I changed my mind. Even if it is really cozy, it's a big no due to the cannibalism aspect, or more so getting eaten in general. Moving on to the Wally and Anne episode, it was so sweet to see these two interact and bond a little! I think a good point was brought up at the end, with how at the beginning of the season and show Anne most likely wouldn’t have done or put up with all this like she is now; and that shows how much she's grown and adapted in a way!

Oh, I remember the question from the previous episode about spending a stormy night with a creepy doll. Well, we got much more than just a creepy doll in this episode. Amphibia is a very dark show despite all the comedy and cartoonish style. Also a very nice observation how Anne has changed from the first episode. Those changes will definitely affect her reunion with her friends...

Cannibalism, creepy dolls, and bones, bones everywhere. I wonder how much darker it can get, but I'm afraid to find out.

One of my absolute favorite favorite pair of episodes from Season 1. One showcasing just how hard Amphibia goes, when it leans into horror, and one of the most humanizing sweet and strangely uplifting episodes. I think Amphibia does kid-friendly horror comedy better than just about any show. Also: Anne is the single best main protagonist on any Disney show ever. Even if the show is never quite as genious as Gravity Falls or as superply well-written and polished as The Owl House, Anne is always there to make stuff funny, heartfelt or dramatic. Best main character ever. I will die on this hill.

Well i think toads ARE frogs but frogs arent toads.. so probably cannibalism. I dunno, i'll have to get my cannibalism guide back outta the closet :/
@donovan802
@donovan802 Жыл бұрын
So I did some research and it doesn’t seem like it would be cannibalism. Toads are cannibals and they have been known to prey on anything they can fit in their mouths, including frogs. But toads and frogs, despite both being amphibians, still belong to different families, so it’s just predation, which in the context of Amphibia really makes you question how many frogs the toads at Toad Tower potentially ate… 😐 (I had a feeling this was the case because of what I remember about alligators and crocodiles - both reptiles that belong to the same order, but belong to different families. Additionally, they are both cannibals and, therefore, only prey on others within their respective families, not on each others’ families).
