Crazy this even exists really. Within one scene you see so many proper greats - Gregory Isaacs, Kiddus I, Skully, Jacob Miller & Robbie Shakespeare, all in their twenties, arguably at the height of their game...

Better late than never. It is now December 18 2024 and this is the first time I have watched this classic movie. I have no idea how it comes up in my feed. I must say that I have enjoyed it thoroughly. Gone are those great days in Jamaica 🇯🇲. I'm just looking at the fabrics and the foundation of Jamaican culture in such awe. I wish those wonderful times could come around again. No guns and hardly any war, amongst others. Just sheer unity. This is just a nostalgic moment for me. Its good to see those legends in their younger years. I must say, thanks to KZbin and whoever uploaded this classic.

I met some hippy rasta white dude who was so into rastafarian he made a point to watch this on the daily. I worked with him and after work on the walk home he introduced me to the market street drum circle. Then said we should hang out the next day, I had nothing to do my girl was out of town. I showed up around 9 am at his house it was a really small town where you didn't really need to drive. He had me sit through this movie while we got stoned, he said it was part of his morning routine and he couldn't start his day without it. After the movie the guy said step out back with me, the guy handed me a croquet mallet and grabbed one him self and said welcome to my croquet course. Dude had this elaborat course set up in his back yard with jumps, loops and parts you you had to hit it up the trunk of a tree it was hilarious. But at the same time, I was like this dude gets it. No fucks given, he was one of the most stress free dudes I ever met.

Wow love it. Classic for a reason! 🇯🇲 You don't see a lot of modern ailments (depression, eating disorders, anxiety, suicide) in places like this, S. Africa & Nepal. Proves it's better to be "poor" and live a natural communal life away from the rat race like we evolved to live for 100's of 1,000's of years than to sit in front of a computer screen or in traffic jams all day so we can buy things we don't need & stuff ourselves sickly fat with surplusses of junk food. Greed is truly humanity's worst flaw. It drives the worst violence & exploitation on the planet. And for what? Those billionaires are never satisfied, always wanting more. Their only joy comes from having MORE than everyone & seeing others struggle. There's enough to go around & make everyone comfortable but no. I'm continually in awe of how good the weed must've been back then. Was terrible into the 2000s where I was. 😆

I enjoyed this. one thing though Leroy always a just change him clothes and no shower. lol. apart from that it brought me back to the early days of Jamaica when things were not as complicated as they are today. we should have more films like these.

@swadeh1566 - I'm a proud Jamaican I was 23yrs old in 1976 and I spent 3 months (Nov-Feb)on holiday and got caught up in a curfew, it's always been complicated (but now we have mobile phone and internet so the World has shrunk) The more things change the more it stays the same 👍🇯🇲🖖.
